About

IDK Can You? is classroom accountability that runs itself: hall passes and device checkouts without paper logs, approval queues, or another system teachers have to babysit. Students scan themselves out and back in at a classroom kiosk. IDK Can You? handles the clock, waitlist, return, and overdue flags. You set the rules once—limits, destinations, timers, and automatic restrictions—and step in only when something actually needs you. No approval queue. No request page on a student’s screen. No IT ticket just to check out a Chromebook. Set it once. Then teach. HALL PASSES • Turn a classroom device into a self-service kiosk where students scan themselves out and back in • See every active pass and timer live from your phone • Review pass history for today, this week, or the entire term • Set the boundaries that work for your classroom, including how many students can be out, individual limits, destinations, and timers DEVICE CHECKOUTS • Check Chromebooks and other classroom devices in and out by scanning • See what is out, what came back, and what was reported damaged • Track loaners without losing a student’s original device assignment BUILT FOR SCHOOL REALITY • Set up a class in minutes by importing a CSV or adding students by hand • Use IDK Can You? from your phone, a classroom kiosk, or the web • We track passes, not kids: only the data the system needs, encrypted and never used for advertising • No ads. Ever.

What's New in IDK Can You?

1.8.0

September 4, 2026

What's new • Settings are reorganized: every classroom setting has one home, and Screens holds everything students see (camera scanning, typed IDs, kiosk sounds, board names, announcements, kiosk and display addresses). • The Hall Pass Live card says when passes come back after a scheduled close. • Learn & support has an About row with your version and build. Tap to copy it. • Rejected offline scans have their own review screen. • When something fails, the app says what failed and what to do next, on passes, kiosks, and settings, instead of showing a code. • Kiosk notices are plain sentences for students and teachers. Bug fixes • Offline kiosk scans are no longer lost on the first scan without a connection. • A refused settings save says so at the control instead of silently flipping back. • Backup codes and the two-factor setup key confirm the copy only after it succeeded. • The kiosk names the right place to allow the camera on iPad and Android. • The kiosk no longer crashes on very short screens.
