Great tool
I’ve been using this app almost constantly for work for over 10 years and it’s been an amazing asset. Simple but does what it does very well. I just wish I could toggle the aerial imagery between Google and Apple maps.
Will not update on ipad2
Says it needs update, downloads and downloads, never updates.

Total garbage!!!
Waste of money. Could not be more frustrated with this piece of crap app. Does not load shapefiles spits out error after error. All spatial files work fine on my computer but not on this garbage. DON'T BUY!!!
Got worse
I used to use this during graduate school and found it to be a handy tool. I recently tried it again for a project after not opening it for a couple of years.
The interface seems polished. Unfortunately, the app is much less capable than it used to be. Many things I touch (for example, changing symbology) inform me that I need to subscribe to do. This is a surprise, since I originally paid for this app. Furthermore, several shapefiles I tried to load from the Natural Earth dataset failed to load with a message that the CRS selected was wrong (it wasn't). Finally, some complex shapefiles that did import displayed with weird artifacts that I don't see in the desktop programs QGIS or ArcGIS.
Overall, I'm pretty disappointed and wish I could get the old version back.

Was working great but....
iGis was working great but now every time I use it in landscape, it cuts off drawing about a quarter of all the layers on the East side. Almost like it thinks it's in portrait. I tried to delete the app and reload it along with all my layers to no avail. Once this issue is resolved this app is a five star.

Shape up
Version 7 fails to import shape files. Worked in previous versions using Wi-Fi.
Import problems
Great concept to import via DropBox. Dropbox works! the .zip doesn't. Software crashes every time I try to use it. Not worth the money - sorry

Did not load my shapefiles. Emailed tech support with question no response.
Wifi issue fixed in latest update!!
Really like this app. Would like ability to label as part of this app. Performs very well.
Buggy
I frequently use this software for land survey, it worked pretty well until version 7, which is unusable. If you try to edit a layer, the new point will appear few centimeters higher than where you pressed. The web server for import/export disappeared, so the only way to exchange layers wirelessly is Dropbox, which doesn't work at all. Tested on iPad mini, iPad 4 and iPad air; on iOS 6 and 7. Without these bugs, I highly recommend this app.

Best GIS app for iPad
This has been the best GIS app I have tried on the iPad. I have a lot of shape files that it easily imported. They are actually quite big and this program handles them without any issues. Easy to import files and everything just works. It's great for me with field work. Great app.
Issues
This app started having shape file importing issues after the last update, as it turns back to main menu as soon as I hit "import". And it is hard to pick points on the map. Good app, needs fixing, ASAP.
Outstanding, powerful and easy to use mobile GIS
Discovering iGIS has made field data collection much easier than using professional surveying equipment. It works with standard data file formats, is simple to use even for newbies, and is very reliable. I wish I new about iGIS before spending money on Trimble Juno 5's. the web site mentions providing "pro" options for a fee, but they are apparently not available yet.

Blows my mind. So much different from other navigation apps!
Surprisingly Good
I have tried a few gis type apps and this one is remarkably good. Takes a little bit of technical knowledge though. Does crash fairly often but all in all quite impressive. I wish you could open shape files from other apps though, ie have a .shp in Dropbox and open it with the app.

Best GIS app available
Having searched the app store for various GIS apps this always seems to be unbeatable.
The ability to load up shapefiles and edit features and also add new features to shapefiles makes it ideal when you need editing capabilities in the field. Import and export of files is also simple.

Amazing doesnt cut it
To say this is amazing doesnt cut it. For viewing shape files and doing simple editing in the field, this is perfect. The only drawback is the re-render required after zooming. But for the price of free, this is simply too good to rate any less than 5.

I would love to see measuring tools as well as a way to share your maps with other users that have also purchased the app.. Other than that it is pretty awesome.
