No trail maps???
The app seems to have removed the ability to view trail maps at Palisades, at least in the offseason, replacing it with only their awful “3D” map that you could get a better version of in any other all-purpose mapping app. The only thing I used this app for was trail maps. Is this someone’s idea of a joke?

Open runs filter
I decided to try Ikon Pass instead of Epic Pass this year, and overall I really like the app. The interface is clean, easy to use, and everything feels well designed.
The only major downside for me is that I can’t filter or clearly see open runs and lifts directly on the map. In the Epic app, this feature is very convenient and makes a big difference.
With Ikon, I often have to check other websites or the resort’s page to see what’s actually open, which isn’t very convenient.
It would be amazing if you could add a filter or map view showing open runs and lifts. That would make the app much more useful on the mountain.

Worst app
Worst app I have ever used. Makes no sense. Can’t perform simple tasks. Renew passes, purchase double downs. Not even staff at Blue mountain know how to use this app. They can’t stand this app either. How is it possible that this app has such a high rating?

I got stranded. Absolutely horrible app and business practice. The app was not showing how many days I'd left, and it was showing me that I had only five days tracked in Snowbird Alta and ruined my trip by not letting me scan in when I had zero days left, and I had no way to track it. On the app, it was showing me that five days were scanned, but I had zero days left, and actually tried to scan. And when I called them, I was on the phone for two hours until I got in, and they weren't able to do anything about this even though it was the fault of their app. They just said we can't reimburse you at all.

Ikon pass app review
The latest UI is complete garbage. The previous UI was bad and you somehow made it worse. There is literally no way to renew my pass on the app. I tap one of the buttons to renew, then choose the pass, and I go to some weird renew page that’s trying to sell me on the pass. Bro! I already said I wanted it, why are you trying to sell me it!? Then I’m somehow on step 1 of 5 and there’s no way to continue from there. I’m in the app game, and the app product, design, and development team for this app should be embarrassed.

Price Increases are Crazy
Pass goes up every year and they reduce your renewal discounts every year. Used to be $100 now it’s $25…
No way to opt out of notification spam
No ikon I already paid you $1000s, do not continue to pummel me with advertisements. Insulting.
Tracking is buggy
Many times I have started the day with tracking on only to find mid day that it failed to collect any stats. Only fix seems to be force quit app and restart.
Don’t expect much
Where do I start…. What a frustrating app! I had it open from a day earlier, and said it was still tracking, but it wasn’t. Lost an entire day of stats. Need to blow away the app. Each night. And be prepared to login again each time, particularly frustrating when you’re all geared up and it won’t recognize your face. And don’t get me started when it won’t start tracking because you’re ‘ not at a resort”, but when you get there (and it knows you are) it doesn’t automatically start tracking !! Much better blood pressure using Strava.

It’s a shame. I get why they combined all the resort apps into one. But there was so much more local flavor to the apps when they were independent. Now I just stick to Slopes for tracking my skiing and let it connect back to IKON to record my stats for the local stuff and home bragging rights.

Unreliable
Tracking works only when the app feels like it. About 1 day out of 4 it decides I’m not “authorized” to track. And before you ask, my iPhone is always up to date. The app is (still) simply not good enough for prime time.

What are they doing?
This app got significantly worse for the 2025-2026 season. The tracking barely ever works and it is way more complicated to track with a group - to the point where I never track on Ikon anymore. The layout is more difficult to navigate and I always get thrown error messages. Additionally, I can never select resorts in my wallet so I can’t use my mountain credits. These frauds gave us mountain “credits” because we paid an insane amount for ski passes for a bad season (one would argue it’s still insanely high for a good season) and you can’t even use the credits. I don’t know what type of product owner they assigned this app revamp but my goodness this rollout was bad. Many peers of mine agree - the app has gotten significantly worse.
