PDB Not up to date and app crashes

Does not include an up to date listing of PDB Proteins additionally large molecules crash the app so it is completely unusable.

Crashes whenever I try to download most molecules

Still as unstable as it was years ago. Super disappointing.

Fantastic! Thank You!

Visually stunning, better than apps on the PC or Mac.

Perhaps someday it can calculate energies and maybe even a backend server option for number crunching?

Works from iPad 2 to iPad Pro. Tim Cook must be mad.
Efficient and artistic.

Current version crashes

Crashes on opening. Probably a temporary fault with an otherwise useful app. Hope it’s fixed soon

fantastic

amazing!I would like to give 100 dollar for this app. Just hope the developer would keep updating this app. Great!

Huge Bonus

Oh wow, they just added search for PubChem that suddenly let's me view small molecules, and with surface turned on with the electrostatic (or binding properties) view option, I can *see* an estimate of the real character of drug molecules. This is certainly the best visualizer out there for the iPhone. It's so far too slow to make surfaces for large proteins though, on an iPhone 5. Still, it quickly helps me better understand each week's biochemistry headlines since most reported studies already have sent their structural results to the Protein Data Bank.

needs better depiction of electron density

The dots style depiction is not very useful. please incorporate mesh surface like in coot. Thank you

Keep it up

Excellent app. Love the ability to superimpose structures quickly and easily. Would like a more detailed manual either in app or a link to an online version. Looking forward to future updates! Worth the 0.99c

Good for viewing on the go...

This viewer is good for having a quick look at a protein structure. The rendering is simple, but generally clear. 3D manipulation is intuitive. Not as flexible or powerful as full modelling packages like PyMol. Surface depictions are simplistic and not really useful for interior pockets. But overall, it is a useful app for checking out structures quickly. Well worth the 99¢

The best viewer for biological molecules available

I very rarely write reviews, but this app proved good enough that I felt compelled to write something about it.

I am a computational chemist, and ever since I bought the original iPad 1, I've been looking for a good program for visualization of biological molecules in the iPad. I've even purchased a couple (one of them > $10.00), but this is by far the best one I've tried.

The PDB interface works flawlessly. I could load an enzyme directly from PDB very quickly, the program already chose the best visualization (and it was really good), located and pointed active sites, ligand molecules, chains, etc., showing them in a very nice way.

Easy to use, functional and **very** lightweight and fast: I still use the original iPad 1, and I could load, rotate, zoom in, zoom out in no time at all, no lag, no freezing.

If there is anything to complain about is that I didn't find an easy "rate it" button in it, so I had to open the apple store, find purchased programs, etc, to rate it.

Oh, requests for future releases? VGA output would be awesome. (yeah, I'm on the iPad 1...)

Finally, a successor to proteins

Very cool app. Been waiting for this since I got my iPhone! Beautiful ribbon structure, selection of chains and ligands, even some neighbor detection!

Great, but would love to see some updates

Just got the app, and it's great. I would really like the ability to view ligand pockets, and perhaps a full screen mode. Great work MolSoft!

Excellent molecule viewer

Have used on the ipad2. Very simple and fast. Good funtionality for the price.
Would be good to have a simple way to save/e-mail a screenshot.

Awesome

This app is sweet. Very good for looking a protein a molecular structure.

Great AP

Beautiful graphics. Easy to use. The preprocessed displays allow quick and easy visualization of the key aspects of the crystal structures. It has a nice range of functionality for a 99 cent AP. Terrific for education but some real work can also be done with it.

Tertiary Structure

This is amazing. To be able to search the Protein Database and twirl the 3D model on an iPad is a lesson in how profound the change in access to information has become. Works flawlessly. Great job!

Useful app

I have spent the last 2 hours exploring my favorite structures with this app. Great fun and being able to touch and interact with them is very cool - needs a few more features such as save image

Best cower out there

This is by far the fastest, slickest, and cleanest pdb viewer out there! The interface us sooooo fluid and intuitive. I highly recommend!!!

Excellent!!!

Great protein structure visualization program; it has nice graphics and easy to manipulate thanks to its thoughtful design. I prefer to use it on my iPad.

Fantastic and Fascinating

This is simply the best molecule viewer for iOS devices.
