Not useful

Shows polar position that is not accurate. Its position varies at different times of day even if you are standing on the same position/location.

Waste of money - DO NOT BUY, ABSOLUTELY USELESS.

Minimal function compared to other polar align apps. Installed and tested for less than 1 minute.. absolutely useless and I want my money back!

UNA FREGATURA

Non serve per il collegamento alla montatura, mostra solo l’ora polare come altre app gratuite.

Don’t use this anymore. Get ds align

This one is only for ioptron with very limited functionality. No new features after all these years. I use DS align now, support many many other mounts polar scope and so much more functionality. Even has a iwatch version.

Do not buy - very weak functionality

It tells you where Polaris is located for your current time and location. But with no options or way to configure the display (other than English / Chinese). Other apps do this as well but with plenty of options for customization. It might be OK if it were free, but it is dismal at $1.99.

Yep...not good

Purchased and no instructions or troubleshooting guide. Couldn’t even figure out how to contact the developer. I can’t even give it a rating...I guess I’ll have to buy ZWO...

Not American English

The elevation is in metric not much help in the USA. If it can be converted to Chinese why not USA measurements? I’m not knocking metric but I’ve spent 60 years using feet ,miles and Fahrenheit. So only half of this app is of any use for me. It’s only good for alignment I should have paid better attention and not assumed it was for the US market. I can use it but I won’t have a clue about my elevation.

Useless

This app no longer works on my iPad. The update clearly is not backwards compatible and is not recognised by older iOS.

New version still won't download.

Hopeless App..

I feel ripped-off! I’m in the southern hemisphere and can’t figure out how to use the darn thing to find sigma-oct! Piece of junk!!

Great App

It serves its purpose, but should’ve been a free app.

GREAT APP!!!

If I haven’t used it for awhile I forget how great an app it really is. Simple, accurate, and easy. That’s what I want when out in the dark. ;)
Thanks!!

Awesome

Works perfectly every time! This app get my polar aligned perfectly and keeps the stars pin pointed and without any star trails

Inaccurate and no settings! BEWARE: NO REFUND!

First, the position of Polaris is 5 arcminutes too low. (If the app says 39', the actual position is 44'.) Second, there are no settings to change meters to feet or degrees C to degrees F. I intend to get a refund.

Option polar scope

Worked OK for a time. Now an hour out. When sidereal time same as Polaris RA shows Polaris still an hour away from culmination.
Needs work!

Response from developer

Hi, Jayrmic, I am sorry to hear that. Could you share some details about one hour away from the correct position? Thanks very much!

No user guidance!!!!

You pay for it and then you find out that there is no guidance from iOptron on how to use it or read from the circle.

Für neuen iPod Touch ungeeignet

Während ich das Programm auf meinem alten Touch gerne für das Ausrichten meines Releskops und des Sky Trackers genutzt habe, funktioniert es nun auf dem neuen iPod Toch nicht mehr.
Schade.

IOptron polarscope

This app no longer works on my iPod.I just have a black screen

Works Well

Thanks for continuing to support this app and the tracker.

One major flaw.

This App works well providing you have a WiFi signal.

As a photographer, I use my mount in remote dark sky locations and because the App is unable to use location services, it will not give you an alignment.

It would be much better if there was a facility to manually add locations on such occasions.

Love SkyTracker, but the app could be improve...

Just love the SkyTracker, and the app is very usefull so to acurately polar align the mount, but you should add a feature that would simply memorise the locations we used... And -or be able to manually enter the coordinates of our actual location. Would be usefull for those with a non 3G iPad for example... Other than that, this combinaison is best way to start in astrphotography...
