Great controller for my observatory

I switched to StellarMate Pro from ASIAir to add control for my observatory dome. There’s definitely a learning curve to deal with, but once learned, it works very well. The recent updates have added new features and improved stability. I find that the app works well on my 13” iPad Pro and my iPhone 15 Max, although the iPhone requires a bit of squinting.

Useless

Run away from this one. Nearly impossible to keep a reliable connection and bombards you with childish witticisms as you try to connect.

Stay away for now atleast

Broken on RP4 - Will not allow simple baud rate change to control EQ6-R Pro direct usb connection. Sees camera but will not slew etc. Needs basic re-work.

No demo mode available

My first sight on this app is disappointing. I don't have a device yet, so it's not possible to create an account without legal serial number and there's no demo mode to find out if my hardware is being supported. All links on the website with supported HW are not working. It's a risk to spend 59 bucks without any proof.

Fits perfectly into the INDI / Ekos universe …

… since it obviously sports the same horrible quality as the rest of it. But since that rest is open source, me, a SW developer myself, would not dare to critisize it too loud. StellarMate on the other hand is a paid product (not the app, but the server side). Hence, it is not just a waste of time, but also a waste of money.
