No demo mode available
My first sight on this app is disappointing. I don't have a device yet, so it's not possible to create an account without legal serial number and there's no demo mode to find out if my hardware is being supported. All links on the website with supported HW are not working. It's a risk to spend 59 bucks without any proof.

Fits perfectly into the INDI / Ekos universe …
… since it obviously sports the same horrible quality as the rest of it. But since that rest is open source, me, a SW developer myself, would not dare to critisize it too loud. StellarMate on the other hand is a paid product (not the app, but the server side). Hence, it is not just a waste of time, but also a waste of money.

AVOID AVOID AVOUD DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE
An absolute headache! I have never in my life used such a terribly designed app and product that crashed literally every 30 seconds. I’m not joking. If you like to try throw your cash in the dumpster, get this. You enjoy the hours and hours and hours and days and weeks of setting up and fixing and rebooting and trying to connect and when connected waiting absolutely forever for it do do anything but just sit there. It is horrible and never should have been released to the public. This science project by a kindergarten student needs to be destroyed.

Great program, awesome updates
Nul
Je trouve que il y a trop de bug à chaque mis à jour il y a plus de problème je mai jamais arrivé a faire une seule session astro nul
StellarMate
I have StellarMate on their StellarMate pro device and I give it 5 out of 5. It works great and beats being tied into the asi ecosystem with the air.
Requires Login to Stellarmate.com
Stellarmate lost out on me buying a Stellarmate Pro thanks to requiring a login to the website for this app. I don’t care what the reasoning is - I won’t use products that play this game.
Potenzialmente eccellente
Non banale nell’uso, ma d’altra parte fa tante cose e non semplici. Dal plate solving all’auto allineamento all’autofocus. E ovviamente il goto. Talvolta si scollega ma dipende dalla qualità del wifi usato. Supporto molto presente
Good but avoid Raspberry Pi5 onboard Wi-Fi
App is good and can work well with StellarMate OS from an iPad.
It’s very handy being able to use your tablet when you’re out in the garden trying to find focus or change your imaging plan.
I had terrible problems at first though, the root cause of which was the onboard Wi-Fi of the Raspberry Pi5 - it kept dropping the connection - which in turn destabilised the app. Since I stopped using the onboard Wi-Fi my experience with the app has been very good.

Needs work
I find the app difficult to use and I find it unreliable. It’s a great concept, but I have lost too many imaging sessions due to app unreliability.
Far away from being stable
Stellarmate app is a good idea, but it is still away from being stable to be used in a „productive environment“. Several crashes, cutted and not readable text labels, etc. I think it would be better to get the app into a stable state first, before implementing new marketing-things like Stella AI functions.

Works fine
Works fine on iphone 14 pro
Much Improved
The latest version is much improved. Keep in mind, this app isn’t really designed to run off of your iPhone. While it can be done, an iPad is more appropriate. Support is outstanding and the developer is responsive to resolving issues.
Kendini geliştirdi
Son güncellemelerle oldukça güzel bir seviyeye geldi. Bağlantı istikrarı artmalı. Arada hotspot ta bağlantı kopmaları yaşanabiliyor ama iş akışı devam ediyor.👍
Sorunsuz çalışıyor
Kendi HotSpot üzerinden bağlanıp sorunsuz kontrol edebiliyorum. Hatasız bir program. AsiAir’e tek rakip bana kalırsa 🤌
Crash
It crashes right away on my tablet.
Great System
I’ve been using Stellarmate for 9 months now, after coming across the lazy geek tutorial. I’ve taken hundreds of shots that I have been able to stack and post process successfully. The app is a great front end for the software on the Pi, and much easier to use than manipulating kstars on the Pi.
I’m using a portable equatorial mount with a DSLR camera and lens. Stellarmate connected to my mount and camera with no issues. Polar alignment works great and there is also a backup method (not well documented) that works well if you can’t see the pole area of the sky due to trees/buildings etc. The tutorial for Stellarmate focuses on LiveView, which works well as a quick “preview” function, but you need to use the capture module to get full res images for stacking and filtering. I had to read the kstars doco to understand it.
As others have said, Stellarmate can crash out. In my experience this is occasionally rather than all the time. The app is fine, it’s the software on the Pi that has issues. I suspect the main cause in my case is poor connectivity to my home wifi, which doesn’t work so well outside the house. Every time I move the mount to a different area outside, the Pi drops off the network for 30sec or so whilst it roams to the best mesh wifi point, but I prefer to have the Pi connected to home wifi (rather than run the Pi as a hotspot) so I get the weather info and can easily download the captured images to a laptop for processing.

Vraiment parfait maintenant
J’avais rédigé un avis il y a déjà quelques temps. Il était assez critique. Force est de constater que le système c’est nettement amélioré. Il est maintenant parfait pour la gestion d’un setup ciel profond en nomade.
Pure junk
I can connect with an iPhone but can’t use it because everything is so small, and when I use my iPad, I can’t connect. Will move to asiair. This is ridiculous. Whisk I could get a refund of my $50.
Works for me
I have an axv mount with celestrons guide scope and wifi adapter so I only use the app to control my qhy camera. It works great for that. I can’t comment on any other features but if you need to control your camera via your phone this is a viable option.
