Hardware seems good, app needs work

Wish there was homekit / matter. Some bugs in app but support is responsive. Would like to be able to mark points as trees/plants so head holds position and water longer or at max distance only

Response from developer

Thanks for the review! We're happy to hear our support team is doing a great job! We've also heard similar feedback from our customers about wanting more control over their zones/watering areas, and we're actively working to deliver more value in this area. Please stay tuned!

Lack of critical features

I’ll update review when features are released.

Not going to go in detail because it’s obvious pain point your aware of. It’s been years as well.. you can only create four schedules which is kind of ridiculous for the price as well as being an irrigation system. Some Irrigation need to run on split hours because of elevation so water doesn’t run I off,
Desired plants/grass. I’m sure there’s people out there that need the ability to have more than four schedules and easily split run times between them allowing time for water to soak.

Also The auto watering can’t differentiate between each zone when running a schedule you should be able to put auto water on or off for a specific sprinkler. I want to run your sprinkler with my drip line and I can’t do that as well on different zones

Homekit / matter

Wish there was homekit / matter

Great sprinklers! App sucks

Sprinklers do a wonderful job watering where they are supposed to. The app could use a lot of help. IRRIGREEN doesn’t seem to be up for any suggestions either.

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback, and we're glad to hear you enjoy our sprinklers! We're currently working on some app improvements to add more value - please stay tuned!

Newest firmware

Now my scheduling is off. Changing the days of watering isn’t adjusting the next water cycle accurately. Every 4 days is saying it’s watering today which is 2 days.

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback - we understand your frustration! We're working on some app improvements and we'll definitely take a look at this issue. Please stay tuned for updates!

App has problems

It seems that this system app has problems when they are closed and you are stuck waiting til they open; need to have a way to bypass the app and use the traditional sprinklers

Love it

Great system one additional feature that would be helpful would be a soak setting we have a lot of clay :)

Great, need a couple of tweaks

Really like the system and support has been great. I would like to see a couple of things to get this to five stars in my opinion. They need to make the app universal (work on iPad), and I would love the ability to set all of my zones to run and be able to just turn off individual sprinklers within a zone.

Stay clear for your sanity

Literally a nightmare system.. this is our 4th summer with this system and I regret it every year more and more.. heads are constantly breaking, and not working properly. We’ve had so many replaced and even had an Irrigreen tech come out to try to fix our system, but it just always seems to fail. Our yard is half way dead this year. I recommend everyone to stay as far away as possible… I can’t believe I paid the price I did for this.

Solid System, App / Controller Software is improved but CAN be way better!

I have had Irrigreen in place for 4 years. From the jump to be clear, Irrigreen is fabulous.

Experienced a number of head failures, even though I was an early adopter I was not thrilled although I understood and was OK with my experience because Irrigreen were excellent to work with in resolving and 100% stand behind their product. (Coordinating schedules with Support team when physical interaction with hardware is needed can slow resolution, but hey, my schedule is busy too)

Ability to program multiple spray zones for each head is an absolute MUST have IMHO.

HUGE PLUS of the Irrigreen System is the significant max watering distance and customized spray zone shape. Savings on water use and cost.

It also means zones can be part full sun and part full or heavy shade. Texas can be hotter than Hades. Full sun areas need a lot more water than full shade, unfortunately, the current software only allows one shape per head and so the same volume of water must be delivered to full shade and full sun.

Asked for this basic software programming 3 years ago.

Perhaps consider using open source software so that your Irrigreen community members can program and submit functionality for your review and release to whole community.

Irrigreen XP 6 head system

I just installed the sprinkler system this year and am very impressed with the customer service and the operation of my new 6-head system. My only suggestion is maybe adding a winterization sprinkler mode button. So it automatically sprays the farthest to let the water and air out.

Response from developer

That's a great feature idea! Certainly something we can add. Glad to hear you are enjoying the system so far. Thank you for the feedback!

Use is limited

The system works as advertised but it sometimes leaves swaths of grass unwatered and brown. Don’t have a fix for this. It would be amazing if they could come up with a two-tier programming system so you can water the grass 4 days/week and then water grass+plants a few days/week but they haven’t figured it out. I spent a lot of money on this system and not all that satisfied with the results.

Please l!!!!

Please add a skip zone features also please give us the option to add more schedule and the option to set a timed run.

Expected more from app

The concept and idea is definitely great for the industry. I can actually water my lawn and not everything else that doesn’t need to be watered. The biggest advantage is being able to adapt watering to yard changes without having to dig another trench, lay more pipe, and move sprinkler heads.

The app leaves much to be desired from a user control standpoint. Worst part is historical information from watering. All you get currently is number of gallons total used and how long the system ran. There’s no breakdown per zone.

Auto water uses internet provided data but you don’t know what data is being used to adjust watering time and schedule. When watering a lawn properly, several factors come into play. I shouldn’t have to pick days I want to water for an auto schedule, the controller should just do it. Should be able to set a weekly goal for precipitation amount and the system figures it out between rain and watering and adapt per season.

App also doesn’t allow you to accomplish simple tasks like changing order of zones. Stupid user error by accidentally assigning the heads in the wrong order but not having the ability to fix it is lame. For the advanced system capabilities, the app should provide the same level of control and functionality.

App needs update

Need to be able to see schedules and zones all on one screen instead of going into each schedule individually. Not the most user friendly.

Response from developer

Hello - thanks for the feedback. Can you tell us more about what you're looking for? Upon first glance, it seems like you're asking for the ability to see all zones and all schedules in a single view. Currently, if you tap into a zone you can see any schedules for that zone, but I'm guessing this is not what you're looking for. We'd love to hear more if you can reach out to us at ios@irrigreen.com

I Need a “Dad Mode”

Great irrigation system and great app. However, it’s missing one key feature: a “Dad Mode”. By “Dad Mode” I mean the ability to manually control and aim individual heads without erasing the programmed zone shape so that dads (and moms) can chase their kids around with the sprinkler.

Response from developer

Thanks for the review. Great idea! I will go ahead and add this to our feature list :)

Something Miraculous Happened!

I haven’t had a fully operational system since January, 2023. Within weeks of installation, I had errors on 8 of 11 heads which prevented my ability to run any of those heads in a schedule. Ray and the service team were responsive and attentive in that timeframe, but my own schedule prevented my jumping in to work-through their troubleshooting steps (some of which included testing with new cables, heads and controller, all of which which they were kind enough to send.) The prospect of having to dig-up everything (as well as having great natural precipitation in this timeframe) made procrastinating on this an easy decision.

I had been able to run 3 heads without issue, and the other 8 heads I could “manually” run by using the EDIT SHAPE feature, but that was very time consuming.

Enter the dry season, which motivated me past the procrastination.

In early July, 2023 - I hopped on the app to do a manual EDIT SHAPE watering, and noticed everything had changed with the app & interface. (Looks like their new 1.17 release had hit) The MIRACULOUS change was that of the 8 previously erroring heads, only 1 was now erroring, and I was able to program schedules for all except the errored head.

I eventually changed out that bad head with a new one. Now, for the first time in a very long time, I was able to program and schedule auto watering for 100% of my system.

Many thanks developers and everyone else who had a hand at getting this fixed!!

System is junk

Update - July 2023
Heads are only making it 1 year. Support is no longer responding.

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback. We are actively working on adding more than 4 schedules to the system and will release that feature as an update to your system when it's complete. Pressure problems are tough to solve. The system will calibrate to the pressure your system shows at the time of calibration. If you have very high pressure, adding a PRV will help improve consistency, but does not help if you have frequent pressure fluctuations. We realize this is a big issue in some areas. Beginning this fall, all new Irrigreen sprinkler heads will be capable of adjusting to pressure fluctuations in real-time.

Poor Beta quality

Error messages don’t have time stamps. No clear steps to resolve errors. Support doesn’t return calls. Sales doesn’t follow up with you when you need more sprinkler heads and wiring. App struggles to stay connected. App is really slow. This could be a really cool product. App doesn’t have clear debug/resolution steps when issue encountered. App gets stuck when running system play/stop gets confused on its own and shows start button when system is already running. Might be time to share some of the code behind the controller so real developers can help fix all the bugs. Unable to connect to controller unless on Wi-Fi. I’ve spent the a lot of money on the system, very expensive beta product. I’d like to see this work better, let me know how to help you make it perform like it should.

Hello - sorry to hear you are having so many problems. Do you have a case number with our service department? If so, we will try to escalate it so that we can get you some help. Many of the issues you are describing are not common. For example, you do not need to be on WiFi to connect to your system if you've put it online, and we certainly don't receive many reports that the app is slow so we'd like to hear more about that to see where we can improve. As far as error resolution, we are fully aware the app does not do a great job walking users through a resolution process. We have in-app self-help and error resolution slated as features for Q3/Q4 '23, so we are hoping to get this out there soon! If you could, can you please get in touch with us at service@irrigreen.com with a subject line of "Tron - App Review Feedback" (or something similar) and we will put an engineer in touch with you.

When can we expect more than 4 schedules?

As someone who plans in overseeding their yard and needing to water a lot in those first few weeks - when are more schedules coming?
