Excellent Simple Writer from a Great Developer
I have been using the app for something like 8 years now very happily. Little bugs here and there do get addressed over time. Cannot recommend enough.

Ja, iWriter ist ein Top-Schreibprogramm, ohne Schnörkel, ohne Schnickschnack. Einfach NUR zum Schreiben von Gedanken, Gedichten, Geschichten, …
Es ist ein ganz anderer Ansatz wie Word, bei dem man ständig irgendetwas sucht, formartiert, in Menüs etwas unter Tausenden Dingen rauskramt und das Nebensächliche, das dann das Wichtige, nämlich das Schreiben, blockiert.
Besonders für Apple Geräte wie iPad und Mac Book ist das Programm perfekt.
Wobei man es auch für Windows nutzen kann, so dass egal von man arbeitet, über die Cloud, immer ein paar Dinge ergänzen oder korrigieren kann (bis der Chef kommt :-) ).
Kurz und knapp ich liebe es!

Good but a bit of a flaw
I wanted this mostly for plain text file editing, but paid the pro version price as sometimes I write markdown for Github repos. And overall it seems pretty good - i.e. no distracting frills and works well as an editor.
The only problem I've encountered is it seems to cache the text from the currently open file. So if I upload to my laptop, edit, then copy back, when I open iWriter Pro it shows the old text until I open the file.
I therefore worry that if I close the app without noticing it'll autosave the file back to an old version. If that was fixed, just by reloading on app start, it'd be a 4* app in my view.

The best No-Nonsense Markdown Editor
iWriter Pro is a fast, stable, and efficient markdown editor with simple formatting tools, excellent search + replace with find->next and replace all features. This is invaluable for working on long documents.
This application is an excellent investment and I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Best straightforward text editing app
I've tried dozens and this one is trusty and reliable. I can edit long documents without having to worry about corruption or weird undos. Some other major players seem to have these issues still when it comes to long documents. Also the interface and formatting all work simply and beautifully. Just enough options without being excessive. Thanks for the great app!

App Doesn’t Work- Avoid
Misleading features list. Preview barely works. App is not being updated to fix bugs and developer does not respond. Avoid this app at all costs.

Die App macht einen guten Eindruck, aber in den Standardfunktionen neben Fett, Kursiv, Listen, Code, Aufgabe/To-do-Liste usw. fehlt die Tabelle - Meiner meine eine Basis im Markdown.
Es ist auch nicht möglich die Kurzbefehle selber anzuordnen.
Meiner Meinung sollte dies in einer „Pro“ Version schon enthalten sein, schließlich ist eine Pro-Version für den Poweruser ausgelegt und sollte den Nutzer entlasten.

Richtig gutes Tool um KI Text aus der App in pdf usw. zu übertragen!
Sehr schönes Design und wunderbar praktisch für mich um einen mit GROK generierten Text, auch mit Tabellen in genau den gleichen schönen Format wie Grok es macht zu übernehmen und als PDF oder Word und noch viele weitere Formate zu übernehmen! Top!
Near perfect replacement for Emacs org mode
Please add cycle visibility on headings using Tab. Please add Mark Set and cut region. Other than those this is as good as it gets to replace EMacs org mode for writing. Well done.
Klar und sauber
Ich habe viele Editoren im Bereich MarkDown getestet, dieser gefällt mir besonders. Die App ist vollkommen durchdacht und sauber strukturiert. Klare Empfehlung. Das Zusammenspiel mit der Mac-App ist hervorragende. Einer der wenigen Editoren, der auch Base64-Bilder anzeigt.

Love this app, it’s excellent for writing blog posts which is what I use it for. I do have 2 feature requests that I have sent to the developer, namely Wordpress export and syntax highlighting.

Great companion to iPad Word
I use copilot a lot, and the text is in Markup language. This does not sit well with iPad Word, so this great interim solution will take the text then export to Docx files all perfectly formatted. Excellent!
LaTeX Multiline isn’t supported
Multiline LaTeX isn’t supported in a $$ Block. Neither \\ nor \newline works. Also \begin{align} doesn’t work. Very poor implementation of LaTeX.

Hello! We have not encountered any issues with the LaTeX source highlighting in the Editor or the math rendering in the Preview. Our sole recommendation is to verify the accuracy of the LaTeX formula. Have a nice day, iWriter team

Had a hard time finding features
I was initially so upset about it not having word count as advertised that I was going to get a refund, but apparently if you enable the “autocorrect” option it shows if you tap an icon over your keyboard. I don’t know why that option is called “autocorrect,” since it doesn’t do what autocorrect does (edit your text without your approval if it thinks you made a typo) but is more like an edit bar with more advanced options.
It’s usable now, but I wish the word count could be set to always visible instead of having to press a button for it each time, and having other distracting stats always there with it.
Support was fast and responsive though! And it’s probably the best affordable writing app on the app store, which says more about the other apps than it does about this one, but if you’re looking for a decent app you can write in for a reasonable price, this is probably it.

A little too simple
It’s called pro but doesn’t any anyway to add side notes and there’s not even a word count. I just assumed there would be a word count before I paid for it. That’s a must for me so I can count how many words I do each day. Also on the preview video the edit features pop up on the bottom but I have no idea how to bring that up. I couldn’t figure it out.

Fantastic for Daily Use
I have used this app and its macOS counterpart almost daily for many years, and other than a bug here or there that quickly gets addressed, I probably have never lived a piece of software more. Thank you!
