Great UI and Customization
This app is very useful for your speakers. I have a Flip 7 and Go 4, I was a bit skeptical of the app first when I first brought my Go 4 but turns out I was about to miss some good features like the 5 band EQ for the Go 4, you can see the battery life and other info like your serial number and also change the speakers name. It gets better when I brought my Flip 7 and since it has a 7 band EQ I was happy.
Things to say for people that have like JBL Clip 4’s, Flip 5, Go 3 and some older models. Some of the older speakers aren’t supported with the app but if you own like a Flip 5 it is supported but very minimal customization

Battery
I just wish the speaker would help you in the app how much playing time you have left on your battery
Dumb
Kind of dumb. I wanted to make the bass more strong on my JBL flip 6 and google told me to download the app to change it. It did not work. Total waste of storage! I LOVE the speaker though…
Graphic equaliser
Graphic Equalizer makes hardly any difference. Mid range is too high and speaker sounds hollow

I love JBL but
The app is glitching when I pair 2 of my JBL grips together the app thinks the lights are off and I can't change the settings unless I close the app and reopen it again and after that when you go back into the app the check the battery status of the stereo pair because I do that often since it has no battery indicator on the grip besides a light that turns red if charge is needed .. the app glitches again by thinking the lights are off when they are actually on .. it blinks between on an off in the app and then acts as if I don't have the lights on

Pro and cons
I think this is a truly good app but there’s a problem with my battery percentage. The app keeps saying that it’s 10% then it’s 50 then it’s 100.

Amazing app
I love this app, I can change the level of bass I get with my JBL Flip 6. That’s magnificent work.
Keeps cutting out
It is a pretty good sounding speaker for the size, but it have only had it for less than a year and now it keeps just randomly turning off or cutting out.

Cant find my Charge Essential 2
Very disappointed with the JBL Portable app. I have a JBL Charge Essential 2, but the app cannot detect or recognise my speaker at all.
It’s frustrating that a JBL speaker cannot be properly used with JBL’s own official app. The speaker connects via Bluetooth, but I’m unable to access the app’s features and settings.
JBL should add full Charge Essential 2 support to the JBL Portable app. Please fix this in a future update.
