Cannot connect to server
Can’t connect to server, tried to look it up and it doesn’t seem to have a lot on the topic. Needless to say the android and web apps allow login only this one requests a web address it is unable to access. Might be a user error but I cannot find any way to resolve it in my attempts at searching.
Nearly perfect
Jelly fin is pretty much perfect at what it does you might notice some reviews complaint about bugs in the mobile version but I have been using it for a long time and I can confirm most of these have been fixed. They are constantly improving on things with updates my only complaint right now would be the lack of proper music controls ie metadata and track skipping on the lock screen, but watching things works very well and it even has a download feature, probably one of the best open sourced projects of all time.

Super good, but downloads are frustrating
1. There is no progress bar on active downloads. I have no idea how long it’s going to take to finish each download or how much progress any download has made.
2. The downloads go in parallel, not in series in the order they were queued. If I ask for three episodes, and I only manage to download one of them before I lose connection and can’t download anymore, I’d much rather it be the first of the three, not the second or third. Downloads should go in order.
3. Why can’t I cancel downloads? The “Edit” button only lets you delete downloads which have finished, so to “cancel” a download it has to finish first, which is terrible and wastes bandwidth you want to give other downloads if you’re trying to cancel.
I just think this is all that mobile downloading needs to be wayyyyyy better.

Farewell DVD, Hello Fabulous JellyFin!
Oh man, this is great. I’ve kept DVDs around since I was a kid but obviously, it’s antiquated and most have moved on but I liked them b/c they reminded me of being a kid finding a movie to watch but indeed I needed a modernization. SO! ChatGPT told me about JellyFin so I dug into it, built a nice MNIS Forum MS-01 i9 server with 64GB of memory and 6TB of space. Now all my DVDs reside rent-free in my home JellyFin server. I can stream anywhere in the house or over the internet wherever I am using a VPN link back to my home network. This completes my life. I simply drag an drop films into my SMB share of the server and BOOM, they appear in JellyFin. It even fetches movie poster images to represent them in JellyFin. Try it!

Can only listen with the app open
This app desperately needs the ability to play music while the phone is locked or another app is open. It’s virtually useless without it.
Not great for music
Jellyfin is a good app for movies, but when it comes to listening to music on the app the music stops when I go off of it. My suggestion is they fix it so that when you lock your phone or turns off the music will keep playing like Spotify or Apple Music.
Does not work on older iPads
Despite being listed as compatible with iPad iOS 12.4 and later, I cannot play videos on my iPad running iOS 15.8.8.

Kinda Awful
Anyone comparing it to the functionality of PLEX or Emby on iOS are cope maxxing hard. Being open source doesnt mean you get to overlook functionality.

I love using this over streaming services because I control everything, it only has what I actually own on DVD, and it’s honestly just really nice to use!

Superbe serveur pour NAS Synology. Un tuto sur le site pour la mise en place aurait été sympa. Mais j’ai pu glaner à droite à gauche les bonnes infos. Je l’utilise exclusivement pour de la musique. Mais quelle ne fut pas ma surprise quand j’ai testé ma première écoute en balade ! Pas de son lorsque l’écran se verrouille !! Et apparement c’est un problème connu qui commence à dater.

Amazing!!! But one thing...
I have this setup on my server rack that handles networking, Homebridge, and others. And honestly, this mobile app version was a HUGE game-changer. However, when I try to download a video, it gives me an error with an object that is this: {{title}} pls help or fix it.
Not Good
The one thing that I want it to do is play music. It constantly goes to sleep. You can’t even play one song. It does not have background play. It is not good. It is worse in every way than just using a web browser.

Performance issues
I really like this app, but it’s incredibly frustrating that anything I’m watching will freeze every couple minutes, I’ll back it up ten seconds, then it’ll work for another couple minutes, then freeze completely. Then I back out of my episode I’m watching and try to relaunch it, only to find it “can’t connect to server” then I have to put my server address in again and MAYBE that’ll get it back to the poor performance it showed before, or not work at all for an hour. It needs a lot more work.

JellyFin - 5 Star
I’m really happy with the app. I’ve been looking for something for MONTHS to work with my JellyFin Server. The only downside is that there is no Apple TV Support. If this could appear in the next coming weeks this would be amazing!
useless to me
no ability to play offline or in the background. why bother making it? all it does it hog space on your phone has fewer features than the browser version which actually functions.
Won’t Launch
I can’t even use the app right now, it stays on the launch screen and never fully opens.
