What's New in JMStudio

1.0.13

May 14, 2026

1.Added support for new device: Fox.

User reviews

Junk software don’t get it.

Downloaded on laptop. Came up with Virus, removed Virus and now the app won’t load because it says the shortcut isn’t there. So there is no way to get into the app. Just probably going to return the scanner 3D maker pro moose lite because it is just a paperweight right now. Support….? Still waiting on that.

Unable to Connect

Extremely disappointed with the outcome of this election of scanner. Nothing works as described. All of the parts are brand new. No reason for the equipment not to be operational.

So bad that even advanced users struggle…

Long time user: I’ve wasted countless hours following your poorly demonstrated tutorials and guides before using the device professionally and then wasted 100’s of hours in my business trying to “polish the turds” this thing creates.

When considering to make a 3D scanning device, the app would be the ‘connective tissue’ between the hardware and the human… in this case it’s made of jello/jelly. (Due to inconsistency and how it seems to be parsing its data using a wiggling prism made from jelly/jello)

I’ve scanned so many things and I’ve never actually been able to use the output from this app to make anything decent. Tried Lego minifigs to weather station anemometers, engine blocks and everything in between - even with spray, which shouldn’t be needed on most surfaces - it’s terrible. The LiDar on my iPad Pro is better than this thing. I’ve actually used the “backup/just in case” iPad data I’ve captured after processing with this app and device for more jobs than I have used the actual scan data from this app or device. Laptop, iMac Pro or iPhone 16 pro…? Doesn’t matter… all output data has been terrible, bad or so messy that is has been (every single time) better to just re-design the needed object from scratch as opposed to using the mess of data this thing tries to give me.

Fixing alignment and erasing turntable is difficult if not impossible on many scans.

I own the hand held device scanner and also the turntable (that I’ve had to modify by moving the scanner further from subject than is possible with its stupidly-designed, fixed position mounting distance to get to even have a chance at working correctly)

If you want to get into scanning things in 3D to design around them or print them… buy ANYTHING else and avoid wasting days of your time trying to “polish the turd of information that spews fourth from this things hatch”.

Kinda works sometimes…

With persistence.…

But 100% Yuck.

Dear 3DmakerPro aka Jim.
Next time, make a better device and ensure the “connective tissue” between the data and the user is where you start next time… don’t just hack together a bare minimum answer for the chasm between the user and the data. This app is in great need of deeper and stronger algorithmic assessment and data cleaning to separate out the noise and auto repair and align the data.

No longer works with Seal

This app used to work with my Seal scanner and it also worked with my Moose scanner purchased later. At some point — maybe with the last update it no longer recognizes my Seal but still does the Moose. I have spent a few hours trying to find a solution to this — the Seal scans smaller items better — and there does not seem to be any way to get support for this.

USELESS

I should have read the reviews before buying a power bank and the connect hardware. Nothing works. Everything I’m trying to connect is brand new. The scanner, connect hardware, power bank, everything is new. Tried to use my iPhone 14 Pro Max with iOS 18.3.1 and it says scanner is not connected even though it is. Mole scanner works perfectly fine when hooked to a computer. I also contacted 3-D maker Pro and bound my scanner to my account. I did everything I’m supposed to do and nothing works. Tried three different iPhones and two different iPads with different operating software and again, nothing works. I can’t believe a company as large as this one who sells the connect hardware doesn’t even have an app that works. The connect hardware only works with an app so what’s the point. I spent a lot of money, but won’t spend money for anything from 3-D maker pro again.

FAQ

What does the JMStudio app do?

The JMStudio app is designed for 3D data acquisition using 3DMakerPro's 3D scanning devices. It allows you to preview the scanning process in real-time, start and stop scans, manage captured data, and export it to the JMStudio desktop app for further processing and model generation.

What are the key features of JMStudio?

Key features include real-time preview of scanning status and effects, the ability to start/stop scanning, quick binding and automatic calibration of 3DMakerPro devices, management and export of scan data via Wi-Fi, and access to a user manual directly on your mobile phone.

Is JMStudio free to use?

Yes, the JMStudio mobile app is a free download. There are no in-app purchases or advertisements mentioned in the provided description.

What are the compatibility requirements for JMStudio?

The app requires iOS 15.0 or higher. It is recommended to use an iPhone 12 or a newer model for optimal performance.

How do I process the 3D data captured with JMStudio?

After capturing 3D data with the mobile app, you can export it via Wi-Fi to the JMStudio desktop application. The desktop app is where you can complete the subsequent 3D data processing and editing to generate your 3D models.
