Junk software don’t get it.

Downloaded on laptop. Came up with Virus, removed Virus and now the app won’t load because it says the shortcut isn’t there. So there is no way to get into the app. Just probably going to return the scanner 3D maker pro moose lite because it is just a paperweight right now. Support….? Still waiting on that.

Unable to Connect

Extremely disappointed with the outcome of this election of scanner. Nothing works as described. All of the parts are brand new. No reason for the equipment not to be operational.

So bad that even advanced users struggle…

Long time user: I’ve wasted countless hours following your poorly demonstrated tutorials and guides before using the device professionally and then wasted 100’s of hours in my business trying to “polish the turds” this thing creates.

When considering to make a 3D scanning device, the app would be the ‘connective tissue’ between the hardware and the human… in this case it’s made of jello/jelly. (Due to inconsistency and how it seems to be parsing its data using a wiggling prism made from jelly/jello)

I’ve scanned so many things and I’ve never actually been able to use the output from this app to make anything decent. Tried Lego minifigs to weather station anemometers, engine blocks and everything in between - even with spray, which shouldn’t be needed on most surfaces - it’s terrible. The LiDar on my iPad Pro is better than this thing. I’ve actually used the “backup/just in case” iPad data I’ve captured after processing with this app and device for more jobs than I have used the actual scan data from this app or device. Laptop, iMac Pro or iPhone 16 pro…? Doesn’t matter… all output data has been terrible, bad or so messy that is has been (every single time) better to just re-design the needed object from scratch as opposed to using the mess of data this thing tries to give me.

Fixing alignment and erasing turntable is difficult if not impossible on many scans.

I own the hand held device scanner and also the turntable (that I’ve had to modify by moving the scanner further from subject than is possible with its stupidly-designed, fixed position mounting distance to get to even have a chance at working correctly)

If you want to get into scanning things in 3D to design around them or print them… buy ANYTHING else and avoid wasting days of your time trying to “polish the turd of information that spews fourth from this things hatch”.

Kinda works sometimes…

With persistence.…

But 100% Yuck.

Dear 3DmakerPro aka Jim.
Next time, make a better device and ensure the “connective tissue” between the data and the user is where you start next time… don’t just hack together a bare minimum answer for the chasm between the user and the data. This app is in great need of deeper and stronger algorithmic assessment and data cleaning to separate out the noise and auto repair and align the data.

No longer works with Seal

This app used to work with my Seal scanner and it also worked with my Moose scanner purchased later. At some point — maybe with the last update it no longer recognizes my Seal but still does the Moose. I have spent a few hours trying to find a solution to this — the Seal scans smaller items better — and there does not seem to be any way to get support for this.

USELESS

I should have read the reviews before buying a power bank and the connect hardware. Nothing works. Everything I’m trying to connect is brand new. The scanner, connect hardware, power bank, everything is new. Tried to use my iPhone 14 Pro Max with iOS 18.3.1 and it says scanner is not connected even though it is. Mole scanner works perfectly fine when hooked to a computer. I also contacted 3-D maker Pro and bound my scanner to my account. I did everything I’m supposed to do and nothing works. Tried three different iPhones and two different iPads with different operating software and again, nothing works. I can’t believe a company as large as this one who sells the connect hardware doesn’t even have an app that works. The connect hardware only works with an app so what’s the point. I spent a lot of money, but won’t spend money for anything from 3-D maker pro again.

Non usable

Can’t even reset password the link does nothing when tapping on it

Apps to slow

Apps to slow compared to my computer and looses tracking easily, can’t go through my settings either due to a bug

Doesn’t connect to Seal

I’ve never had great luck with this scanner. It’s gotten worst. On the latest flagship iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 18.2 it just won’t connect to the scanner. Using the Smart Grip or without. Yes I’ve confirmed the connections and the smart grip shows it all connected.

Is there any support!?

I purchased the seal lite and after some time and YouTube, I was able to get it to operate on my Mac desktop JMStudio. After purchasing the Smart Grip I cannot get the app to recognize the scanner. I simply get a pop-up that says I must bind the scanner on desktop. I’ve used the scanner several times but in my profile it doesn’t see my scanner bound to my account. There’s no instructions to resolve this anywhere and no clear way to interact with customer service. If I had known this scanner would be this difficult to set up for mobile I would have spent much more money with something like a Revopoint. I wanted something highly mobile. Even when connected to the Mac the scanner often loses tracking. I have no idea if the smart grip would help with scans because it seems impossible to connect. Highly disappointed.

App doesn’t connect with Mole scanner

Spent hours troubleshooting the connection issue. The app shows the scanner is connected in the settings, but displays that there is no device connected on the main screen. I contacted support just to get an automated response with no timeframe for a follow up. I spent a lot of money on the upgrades to be able to use this device as a portable scanner in the field. Someone needs to fix this immediately!

Terrible app

Windows app won’t even open on the computer. App for android wont get past all the so called debugging stuff and scanner connection. Says I need to bind the scanner to my account which I have. iOS app gets a little further but still says I need to bind to my account and won’t connect. JM studio itself was design by people who apparently thought making up random ways to do simple tasks was a good idea. Takes 10 steps to do one simple says and is nowhere near user friendly. None of this stuff is user friendly from the start.

Does. It work at all

Cannot get iPhone to see the scanner. Tried to contact 3DMaker by email two separate times. Still waiting for a response. Very Frustrating.

Doesn’t work

I cannot get the windows app to even open, and I cannot get the iOS app to connect to the scanner. What is going on? Genuinely feels like I wasted my money. Hopefully fixes are released at some point.

No longer works.

Turned my $150 connect into a paperweight since it eon’t connect to my scanner anymore. please fix or downrev.

Leave it to an update to turn my connect into a paper weight.

App worked wonders prior to this most recent update.

I opened the app to use the scanner and not only did it lose my previous calibration, it no longer fully connects to my mole!

It will show a blue connection icon in the scanner page but will claim the device is not connected when trying to scan. Scanner Works fine when connected to desktop, but that’s not the point of this app!

Note to self, test after each update. This is ridiculous.

Scanner not supported

I recently purchased a Lynx scanner and tried to use it with the connect. The app stated the scanner model was not supported. I have the latest version of the app which states the Lynx is supported. Assistance would be great.

not working

when i installed the software onto my iPhone 12 pro max, and connected the Mole scanner, set it to textured scan
hit scan but no image appears in the display, abd the scanner takes no frames.
The mole scanner works when connected to my macbook pro 16 m1, but not when connected to my phone. There seems to be no tech support to diagnose the problem. the phone app lacks any kind of diagnostic.

Powerful mobile scanning app

After getting the Mole scanner attached I was really impressed with the scan quality that you can achieve remotely. I use it to scan vehicle interiors for product designs and couldn’t be happier with the results! Definitely recommend if you are wanting to scan things away from the computer.

Add scanner

I scan the QR code from the calibration page… it just drops back to the “new scanner” button in the app. Is the app not compatible with the whale? It shows the whale in the app intro screen… overall this has not felt like the kind of support I should get for $8000
