What's New in JoeEditor
1.30
June 5, 2026
v1.23 to 1.30 changes • Open .txt, .md, .json, .yaml, .html, and .css files directly from Finder • New Files settings panel lets you set JoeEditor as your default editor for any supported file type • The app now remembers your window size and position between launches • Double-click an empty area of the tab bar to open a new tab • Opening files from Finder now reuses your existing window instead of launching a new one each time • Fixed an issue where text in unsaved tabs could be lost when quitting the app • When saving a new file, default is .txt instead of blank extension - New tabs put the cursor right in the editor — start typing immediately, no clicking required - Undo now correctly reverses every Text Operation (Sort, Reverse, Remove Duplicates, etc.) - Sort Lines uses Finder-style natural alphabetical order: case-insensitive, with "file2" before "file10"; empty lines sort to the top - Duplicate Line, Move Line Up, and Move Line Down keep your cursor where it was instead of jumping to the end of the file - Sort Lines and Reverse Lines are now adjacent in the Text Operations menu - Font picker now shows every monospace font installed on your device, with each option previewed in its own face - Press ESC to close Settings (Mac and iPad with hardware keyboard) - The active tab is more distinct — accent-colored name and thicker indicator bar - Faster, cleaner edit menu labels: "Undo Sort Lines", "Undo Remove Duplicates", etc.
