VERY EXPENSIVE- NOT FREE
I am so sick of these companies, putting out novels and short movies that say that they are free to watch or free to read and then you get into about chapter 4 or 5 and they tell you have to buy coins or whatever to continue reading or watching and low and behold, you buy some coins. I think it's enough to buy a whole book because it cost more than any book will cost but when you get to, in my case today, chapter 30, you have to buy more coins and it won't tell you how many chapters or how many coins you need to read to the end of the book so I have read 29 chapters of a book and I refuse to pay another cent!Goodbye Joy Lit - don't fall for it.

JoyLit app - great ebooks but expensive to read entire novel
Am rating JoyLit app as 2 stars only due to how expensive it is to purchase coins or monthly subscription.
The ebooks / novels are really good.
App needs more options to access chapters. You cannot earn enough coins daily to access chapters after reading or listening to the first 1/4 of each novel. You’ll have to purchase a monthly subscription. Need options such as watching ads or reading linked articles to earn coins faster.
Am deeply hooked by “Saved by Brother’s Best Friend” but to access chapter twelve (more than a hundred chapters in novel), it’ll take 102 coins. Each successive chapter’s coinage access price increases successively.
To finish reading this very enjoyable novel would cost way more than buying a large hardback book. Purchasing 600 coins is $4.99 USD. Least expensive monthly subscription is $9.99 a month. That nets 1000 coins first day of subscription. IF you check in daily afterwards with that subscription you are allotted 300 coins per day you check in.

What a rip off
It costs a bloody fortune to read one of these books. Don’t waste your time and money. The story was fine but it is a total con job the way you have to pay such a high price. Also the text is riddled with typos and formatting errors. For the price you pay they can well afford a copy editor to proof the book.

Total scam
Story repeated itself, but after paying $38.99 thinking I could read multiple novels, and after receiving 43% more coins, more is required just to finish the one poorly written novel. So I got scammed, others beware, get kindle unlimited or use the library. Wish I could get a refund as no one should have to pay $38.99 to not even be able to read one book!😡😡😡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hard to earn coins
The subscription is really misleading and it’s so hard to earn coins to continue reading on. You can only earn a few coins a day and each chapter takes about 50 -70 coins to unlock. It’s taken about a week to unlock the next chapter. I’m about to give up on my story and it’s so good to read 😒

Paid for the monthly subscription but have had no extra coins as promised. Emailed the support team and had no response! Absolute scam and annoying because the stories are good.

Another insanely expensive app
Although probably technically feasible to read a book for free, the ability to earn coins is highly limited. Buying coins will allow a book to be read at extortionate cost and the subscription model is simply larcenous.
A major ebook subscription costs under £10 per month for unlimited books against joylits 3-4 chapters per day for the same money!
By contrast the book I began to read on the platform will cost approximately £60 to unlock all the chapters - or I can buy on AZ for £2.24
