Don’t be fooled
Many books are not completed and haven’t even been updated for months or some longer. Many books that are completed are rushed finishes and haven’t even lousy endings. Very few actually have a great ending. Many people have to pay to read and honestly you wait so long for book updates your just wasting money at that point- and customer service is horrible

This sucked it wouldn’t take my card when I have money on there and then it wouldn’t let me watch the adds to get the pearls to open a chapter the book was very interesting but I was unable to read it.
As soon as I used this app, suddenly I’m logged out of hoopla and can’t log back in.
I enjoy the books available on this app but it is pay for use, which fine that’s okay I guess, but as soon as I exit and go to use my free library hoopla account, I’m logged out and can’t log back in. I was literally using hoopla right before I opened this app and was logged in. I won’t trust this app again… fun books or not, I never get to finish them anyway sadly.

Scam!
I had spent money I was using my account for mouths and then they removed my account got reset out of no where. I try messaging on the app tried login and out again removed my help center message. This app a scam! They will steal your money!
Way too overpriced. Scam.
Exorbitant prices to read stories, you have to open links/ads to get a minuscule amount of ‘points’ that aren’t even enough to read a single chapter. Not to mention all the stories are 500-1000+ chapters just to squeeze money out of you. Quite a scammy way to run a reading app. Wattpad quality stories for 1000x the price. Yet it’s marketed as “free to read”.

Lost it all
If I could give zero stars I would I lost all my books and everything it logged out for some reason and when I go to log back in it wouldn’t let me saying i could never log in that again I wasted all that money on coins and books just to lose it all when they tried to fix something on an update it’s ridiculous

Another Money grubbing company, selling 2-6 page chapters for $3-5+. It’s a shame writers have their book carved up to 700+ chapters which I’m sure they aren’t paid much for… who ‘buys’ a book for more than $50?. This sort of money gouging model needs to change

SCAM!!! Money pit
$200 to read a book!!!! I started reading free chapters and was willing to pay to read further. I saw each extremely short chapter is about 50 cents and the books has over 400 chapters. So to read the whole book, $200 is needed!!! STAY AWAY!!!
Fixed points/ad
Really enjoy this app. Had issues with points/ads, so I reached out to their support. The support lacks in customer service skills, but since they made adjustments shortly after contacted. I can deal with the lack of skill set the agent I spoke to had, as they were professional and proficient.
Scam
I purchased a one-month subscription and then canceled. Now, even though I canceled, I am being charged weekly at a higher rate with no method to cancel or change my subscription. Customer service has been minimally responsive via an AI chatbot and keeps telling me to cancel in the app or the App Store. I do not have an option to cancel nor do I have access to any subscription features.

The adds are very boring and annoying. Can you stick to 30seconds long adds instead of making me read 4 articles just to access one free chapter?

I have been trying for months to cancel this account. They claim that I should be able to do this in my Apple subscriptions but it does not appear there. I have contacted the developer via three different email addresses as well as social media and I have successfully disputed the changes for three months running but they continue to charge me and do not respond to any attempts to contact. This is a total scam.

Run around by support
I had paid for the monthly pass to read novels and after a week it started prompting me to pay for chapters to read when it should be free. Even for new novels. Looks like they are just trying to funnel more money without giving proper services. I reached out to support to get this fixed but through the app it is AI support and it never connects to a live agent but says it will then ends the conversation. Tried through email multiple times and no response at all. It should be 1 star but I gave it 2 stars because when I did have the pass actually working, it was an enjoyable experience.

Took coins and pearls but chapter didn’t unlock
Was trying to get the next chapter, I watched the coins/pearls disappear but the chapter didn’t unlock
Length of stories
My main issue is how long the books are. There are so many chapters in most of them that I get bored not even halfway through. If there are 200+ chapters the content needs more depth without multiple plots.
