As someone actively seeking jobs, I’ve found that families rarely respond through this app, which has been incredibly frustrating. There are several bugs that make the experience worse. One of the most tedious issues is having to scroll through all the jobs I’ve already applied to when trying to find new ones. It’s easy to lose track, and the process becomes unnecessarily time-consuming. The filter function also doesn’t work well. For example, I filter out jobs involving infants, but they still pop up. If I’m not careful, I could end up applying for a job I don’t want. This becomes especially tricky when a family has multiple children, one of whom is an infant, and it’s not immediately clear from the job listing. Another major downside is the amount of personal information the app requires before you’ve even had a conversation with a family. Meanwhile, families provide very little information about what they’re looking for in a babysitter, which makes it hard to determine if I’m the right fit. It feels like there’s no commitment from families, even from the start, which adds to the frustration. Additionally, having to write a new response for each job application is exhausting. Other platforms, like Care.com, allow you to save responses, which makes the process so much easier. Here, you have to manually copy and paste, which is inefficient. Overall, while the concept is great, the execution leaves much to be desired. I’ve spent hours applying to jobs and, despite hearing about the platform’s potential early on, my experience has been disappointing. Since downloading, I’ve only met with one family, and most others either don’t respond or ghost the messages. I’d love to know if it’s actually successful for anyone else.
