Frustrating App

This app is annoying. First, it doesn’t have basic foods in its data base. For example, if you try to search for almonds it provides you with a hundred foods that have almonds as an ingredient, but not almonds themselves. This is true of everything. Try searching for “peach”. You get a massive return of peach ice cream, peach this, peach that, but no actual peach. You have to go online and search for basic foods then manually add them and all the nutrition info. This app is for people who eat food solely out of packages. Additionally, I have been using it for three months with a specific calorie goal, and this morning it added 600 calories to my goal and I can’t change it back. Changing it in the profile does not work. Time to delete and get a new app. This thing won’t let me write a new review, so I’ll add it here although I’m guessing no one will ever see it. The other thing this app DESPERATELY needs is fractions. You can’t log that you ate half of something, or one and a half of something else. Every time you eat less than a full portion of something, you have to manually add a new item. Please put fractions on this app.

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to write this, and we're sorry the app let you down after three months of tracking. You were right, and we've rebuilt both parts in version 3.2: • Your calorie goal: in the version you used, updating details like your weight replaced your goal without asking. That's what added the 600 calories, and Home didn't show your edits until the app restarted. Now your goal only changes when you choose to, and edits show on Home straight away. • Search: searching "almonds" or "peach" now shows the plain food first, with products that contain it listed below. If you're willing to give Kalory Help another try, please update to 3.2. If anything still isn't right, contact us at contact@kalory.help and we'll look at it personally.
