Basic version was better
The recent revision of the app has brought a lot of new features, but also a lot of bugs. I preferred the simpler more reliable version. For example, whenever I tap the Recent Playlist button within the Playlist surface, the app crashes.

App has been working great til last few days, when it never gets off "buffering." Deleted/reinstalled and issue persists. Can't tell if app is still monitored/updated
Not the App’s fault…
In terms of its musical programming KALX is great! It would be one of my favorite free-form stations, except… their sound quality, at least when streaming, is terrible (I’m not in the Bay Area, so I don’t know how their over-the-air quality is). I really hoped this app would make a difference, but not really. The station is so good musically that I can tolerate the poor sound for a while. And this app is nice enough, even if it couldn’t help the sound quality. It is what I will use for playing this station going forward. Play list is easy to use and stays reasonably up to date. Nice visual design too.

Perfect
This app plays KALX, shows you the playlist, and that’s it. It’s perfect in every way.
Basic app brings my favorite station to my iPad, thank you!
I adore KALX. Very basic and straightforward app. It plays the stream and it shows you what has been played. So far so good!

Can you add Listen and Playlist as 3D Touch shortcuts from the ios home screen?
somewhat missing the old version
this update is more flashy and colorful; the artwork is interesting too. i love that it's easier to access the current playlist from within the app.
maybe it's just me but i've found it now takes longer to stream - at times i've waited 30+ seconds. not that big of a deal but noticeable. the app crashes often too; yesterday it stopped streaming three times in a row. that's usually when i switch over to my radio or streaming from kalx's website (best reception).
i miss the old time counter too.

Six stars to the developer who wrote this App. This update is great! I miss the counter, but I'm really happy to have it working again!
Bit rate too low
While KALX does offer bit rates reasonable for music, their app is stuck at the lowest, and lacks any way to choose otherwise.
Works
You can do the same in Chrome but browser streaming eats much more power.
Three stars until the bugs are fixed
Awesome radio broadcast. One possible workaround for crash and iPhone stalling memory (?) hogging issues:: double push the home button and delete the app from the "Standby" queue immediately after use. But some of the crashes are rather phone crippling until a full restart applied.
Audio freeze on 2nd, subsequent open
Freezes solid on second use under IOS 6 on iPhone 4S. You can delete & re-install every time to want to use it...

Use KALX web site to multitask
Use listen live feature at KALX website to be able to check email. It is cool to have KALX either way!
Great to have KALX on my phone!
Hope there's an update in the works to support iOS4 multitasking. That would make this app incredible!

very useful!
the playlist feature makes this worth using instead of a regular radio streamer. you can see a history of exactly what songs were playing minute by minute!

A very simple and straightforward app that streams live music from the Bay Areas best radio station. I really like the playlist feature!
I would like to see this app expanded to include a program grid, more info about the shows, links to podcasted shows perhaps?
