App no longer connects to W5

App no longer connects to W5 - the device indicator keeps spinning saying “Connecting” and never connects. Even after going though the set-up process and adding the device (W5) again and again, the device still won’t connect to the app after the set-up process is complete.

No IOS 16 support- doesn’t connect

No wonder the company went out-of-business !!
Wasted $600 for a loud and useless app Ac

No linking

Apparently because I don’t have the newest iPhone I can operate my air conditioner.

When I went to the help section on the app it is no longer available.

What am I supposed to do ??

Crap product fatally flawed, no support

This ac worked pretty well for one summer. Tried to reinstall it after a winter in storage and it can’t connect to wi-fi and won’t work as an air conditioner if it can’t connect. The app won’t let me delete the device or re-add it, it’s a total crapshow and the company seems to be shut down and unresponsive, hopefully they’re in court proceedings somewhere for fraud.

awful

no support
app can’t find the unit
limited manual use
for a $600 unit it’s absolute nonsense

App needs an updated version

App needs an updated version to support IOS 16. I have an iPhone and I currently can’t connect with the unit through this app. Unless there is another problem with the app, my guess is that this older version is not compatible with iPhone’s newer software version. I’ve tried contacting Kapsul and still no response.

App was great when it used to work. Had to do the paper clip reset since the AC kept turning on and off on it’s own. Lost the Wi-Fi remote but it still a decent small room AC if you got it at kickstarter price. Wouldn’t buy this at full price since there’s no support for the app or unit any more.

Kapsul WIFI is gone

With the closing of the company all support and WIFI are no longer available.
My unit still works (a little rattle at times) but not remotely.

Wish app worked

Impossible to get it to connect with my air conditioner, it worked for about four months and then just stopped connecting. Pretty useless

Love it

I have to admit I’m not fond of the IOT in general. I mean how awful is it to just turn on the AC when you get home?

BUT, at least in this case, I love that I can control my Kapsul remotely! I have an older dog at home and it’s awesome to be able to turn on the AC from my office in the middle of the day.

Plus no need for a whole house system!

So far, so good!

Using carefully trimmed plywood painted white, I was able to install this in a 45” wide window with a sill very low to the floor. While the jerryrigging took some time to ensure it was safely sealed, the mounting bracket is ingenious, the unit is quiet, it cools a very large bedroom next to a hot attic in triple digit temperatures, and the app is intuitive and connected on the second try. And despite all the initial supply horror stories, it arrived in less than a week!

Yes it’s expensive, but a lot less than our only alternative of installing a split in a bedroom in a distant upstairs corner of our large home or hoping an expensive re-installation project woukd help after duct rebalancing did not. I’ll post again if our first overnight guests feel otherwise, but I’m pleasantly surprised!

Pile of crap

Perpetually stuck at attempting to connect to Kapsul Wi-Fi while trying to pair (checked dozens of times that I’m connected to it via WiFi… and I am). After three dozen reset and attempts… it connected. Two days later, it wouldn’t connect. I’m not about to go through that process again. Ya’ll can have this $800 heap of crap back!

There are many reasons why people have to go for known brands.

This is definitely not a quiet side of AC. App doesn’t really work. It frequently gets disconnected. These people don’t value their own brand. Not so much of development on their app and products. Not really recommending this product. Folks don’t get fooled by its slim design. Not worth of your money.

Buggy

Pairing goes through fine, but then you can’t actually use the app to do anything reliably. Changing the temperature setting through the app works only half the time. Changing the display brightness (important for your bedroom unit) doesn’t work at all.

Can’t connect to Wi-Fi

Can’t connect to password-protected WPA2 Wi-Fi. Won’t allow me to enter a password. Hope a bug fix is in the works.

Simple clean UX and easy to use

For a Beta app, this was really easy to set up and use. The user interface is simple and intuitive, and eliminates a lot of the extraneous add ons you may see in other apps so the user can quickly get to what matters and what they use most.

Horrible horrible app!

I would give this app a zero if I could. I received my Kapsul Air about a week or so ago. The unit is fine, it’s the app that keeps disconnecting. Using an iPhone, I have connected to the unit. Everything is fine for about 4-6 hours. Seems when it’s time to reconnect (turn the unit on), I have to reconfigure the whole thing again. So I have re-installed the app, nothing, unplugged the unit and it works until about 4-6 hours and I have to start all over again. Very frustrating.

Fairly easy set up

I had to pair, delete and re-pair a few times to get it working. Solid, simple app. Wish they would add the “fresh air/fan mode” they have talked about since the AC doesn’t have one. If they added that I’d give another star.

Please support iOS 12.4.8

I would love to control Kapsul but I have an older iPhone that works perfectly fine except for being able to open this app. Please add support for iOS 12.

Apps can be built with iOS 13 SDK and require iOS 11 or 12 to run. There is no requirement to only support iOS 13 these days.

Thank you.

Simple and easy to use

Setup was very easy and I find the controls intuitive. I’m using the grouping function in one room to control two Kapsuls in tandem to cool a large space and it works great. Fans ramp together and ease off together and the temperatures for each unit are within a degree or so of each other. I use remote operation a lot and put it to 78° over the weekend and turn it back down an hour or so before I get home, which is a nice feature.
