Kasetofon

Kasetofon is a cassette recorder, not a list of voice memos. Load a blank tape, press REC, and watch the reels turn and the needle swing. Takes are written straight to 16-bit WAV — mono or stereo, at 44.1, 22 or 8 kHz — and they stay on your device, visible in the Files app. RECORDING • Keep recording with the screen locked. A Live Activity holds the spinning reels, the running time and a STOP key on the Lock Screen. • Tapes stretch as you talk. Run past the end of a side and the tape extends, up to four hours. • A take interrupted by a call or an alarm pauses and picks up again where it left off. • If the app is ever killed mid-recording, the take is recovered the next time you open it. • VOL and TONE act on playback. TONE is a low-pass filter, like the tone knob on a real deck. THE DECK • Six cabinet finishes, from graphite through walnut to 70s beige. • A compact cassette, or an open-reel mechanism with tape threaded across the guides. • A mechanical rev counter, or a real-time counter. • An analogue VU meter with a needle you can colour. THE SHELF • Every take on a shelf you can search by name and filter by category or date. • Name your tapes in your choice of handwriting. • Share any take as a WAV. • Optional iCloud Drive storage.
