What's New in katrlog

2.4.0

April 8, 2026

Now on iPhone! katrlog is no longer iPad-only. The app has been redesigned to run on iPhone, with a dedicated layout that keeps your collection at your fingertips wherever you go. iCloud Sync — Keep Your Collection in Sync Across All Your Devices Your catalogue now syncs seamlessly between iPhone and iPad via iCloud. Changes you make on one device appear automatically on your others. Sync is smart too — you can choose to sync only on Wi-Fi to protect your data allowance, and opt-in to battery-aware sync so it only runs when you're plugged in. Unsaved Changes Protection Accidentally navigating away while editing an item will now prompt you to confirm, so you never lose work in progress. Improved Category Image Display A new setting lets you choose between aspect-fill and aspect-fit for preview images, and category name labels now sit on a caption plate for much better readability over bright or busy photos. Polish & Bug Fixes - Settings page redesigned for clarity; cloud sync options only appear once your collection has been migrated - Fixed layout issues across search, category grid, item creation, backup, and store screens

Seeking Update

A previous review requested the ability to export the collection in a printable format. Has this feature been added yet? If so, can you update the wiki page with instructions on how to do so. If not, can you provide an update on when this enhancement will be available?

Promising app

On first look this app seems promising. I particularly like the ability to customize, to create my own categories and select the the fields I want to include in the data entry template for each category. This app is a good start BUT there are some key functional requirements that I need to make this app useful.

First. I want to print out a summary version of all my entries, complete with text and pictures. The app does not offer that option.

Second. The screen layout includes a field for a photo at the very bottom of the screen, almost beyond visual range of my iPad Pro, regardless of whether in portrait or landscape view. It would be much more useful if the picture field were easier to see.

Third. It does not appear that photos from my archive can be used. Instead, real-time photos are needed.

Fourth. There is no way to contact the developer via the Apple store.

UPDATE: I am happy that the developer responded promptly to my review and has made a commitment to improving the app. I look forward to seeing how their efforts result in a better user experience and will update my review when the improvements are implemented.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback! Please feel free to email us at admin@ajapps.com.au We'll look into why there aren't contact details on the App Store. Great points - we should have an update addressing item 1 and 2 in the next update. Regarding your third item, by connecting your iPad to the computer, you can upload your archive through iTunes. Your feedback indicates we haven't done this well enough. We'll work on that as a priority, and perhaps in the meantime get some tutorials written up.
