Horrible!

This is the worst app ever. Do not get. They have a very creative method for calculating walking. They will tell you you walked 5 passive miles in a day. I wish. Then I’d never have to walk as exercise! I walked over 200 miles and they gave me credit for 56.

Terrible

Absolutely not beta tested or at best not developed by people who understand work out apps. Used it for a fund raiser and they were incapable of getting it right, over a dozen emails and dropped calls for support. Stay away, there are so many better apps to use

Glad to Participate with Kilter App

Great way to donate your hustle to a good cause. After you set it up, it takes care of itself. Or you can go in and track your points/your place and your team’s!

Fine for my use

First time I’ve done something like this and I’ve found it easy to use. The best part is how it syncs directly to my Garmin and I don’t have enter anything! One improvement would be to add swimming. A lot of triathletes use this but we get the same credit for a 1 Mile swim as a 1 mile walk. USAT has used the following conversions : Bike miles = x. Run miles = 3X . Swim miles = 10x. I thought these ratios were fair based on the effort required.

Riding for A Cause

App is working great, as I ride,
the info is downloaded . Glad I’m able to participate.

Unreliable

My activity and miles are not being tracked properly from connected apps and now the app won’t open at all for me in a week. Contacted the help email address and they couldn’t assist me. My activity is showing with 0 miles or not at all. Sent screen shots with all the details with no response.

Pathetic support

Couldn’t give them a zero. Can’t get uploading issues resolved. Seems like a one pony app in a big boy world.

Kilter is my daily motivation to move!

I love the Kilter app because it motivates me to move for wellness every day. I take on step challenges, walk to meet goals and it keeps me competitive and accountable to myself. I love that it helps charitable causes as well. I definitely recommend!

Loving this!

Love being able to turn my activities into a chance to donate to my favorite causes! 😊 would recommend to anyone!

Won’t even open

App won’t even open for me. Stuck on the opening splash screen.

Difficult to use

Please make this more user friendly

Garbage

Doesn’t record all exercises via the iPhone connection HeartWatch and then won’t let you manually enter the information -

Doesn’t sync correctly

Signed up for an event (Miles for Meaning) and other participants who knew how much I work our or ran with me, mentioned that I went from being top ten on the board with my org to nothing - all my miles had disappeared. Integrated with Fitbit, only my walks (zero runs) reflected and they also disappeared occasionally - and yes, I update my Fitbit runs to include the distance. When I tried to get the missing activities to sync again (delete them from Fitbit, then enter them back in manually) they now had duplicated or quadrupled. Multiple reach outs to Kilter with zero resolution. In the end, not worth my time. I deleted the app. Until more stable performance and Fitbit integration, cannot recommend. Many event participants advised they had issues. Kilter should advertise itself as a beta platform given the issues.

Great Tech Support

I had some technical issues and Seth was great at helping me and getting me set up!

Fun way to participate

I like using this app to connect with friends on a fundraising challenge. Syncing with Garmin Connect works well. It easy and fun to find friends participating in the same challenge and keep up/compete for points! I had a few questions about the event and the app and the Kilter support team was prompt and extremely helpful! I’ve never used one of these apps before but I really like what I am seeing!

Great Company

Really have to admire what the mission is with Kilter. Good customer service and great people!! A++

Don’t count on it working at all

Many problems mostly centered around not recording walking data. Interface is confusing and hard to use. No support.

I got a response to my review above. It was useless. They provided a link to contact them which took me to their web page. A large number of participants show zero activity which is not true. This app is not working for this event.

Delete miles

Contacted Kilter after my miles had been deleted from a charity event. I was told they would be replaced, but still haven’t. Contacted again and no response. Very disappointed.

I didn't know I was signing up to be tech support...

When I agreed to help our local charity with the Miles For Meaning event I was super pumped. It seemed like a real great event and I was excited to use Kilter. I pushed it hard. I've recruited close to 150 team members if not more.
I've speant more time as tech support than actually getting my miles in. A large percentage of our members still do not have their data scraping over, and I am running out of explainations to give. I know it's not on their end because I've specifically overseen the installation and set up. It mimics mine and mine is more or less fine. Mine is less fine in that my activities are sometimes showing up 5+ times for a single run. This gives me zero faith in the actual numbers that will be used for this event. I don't think I will ever trust the leader board. The amount of frustration I've seen from our team members also ensures I'll never be able to convince them to participate again.

What kind of QA went in to this? Were you really ready to launch a North American wide event?

Inaccurate

I joined a challenge and logged more activities than it gave me credit for. They also set ridiculous minimums for activities you enter manually, which makes me wonder if anyone in development is actually an athlete. For example, to get credit for running, you must have at least 30 minutes. So anyone faster than a 10 minute mile doesn’t get credit for running a 5k.

Plus, it’s not intuitive to navigate. On some screens there is no way to get back other than hard closing the app.

Response from developer

Hi there and thank you so much for your feedback! To clarify your credits for activities, specifically your running note, you get your credit for either 30 minutes or a minimum of 2 miles. So for those running faster, you'll get credit so long as you achieve a 2 mile minimum. In addition, different events may have different rules. Kilter is customizable on a per event basis. Some events may allow you to earn more points for more activities throughout the day and some may only allow you to earn points for one. Some events may be specific to an activity too, such as running, where you earn points based on the distance you log. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't find the app intuitive to navigate. Our development team is working on a major UX and UI upgrade the we will be launching in the next two months! Have a great day :)
