Disappointing — not ready for prime time

I had high hopes for Kinomap given the volume of content, but the execution falls short in a few key ways.

For rowing, the videos aren’t shot from a rower’s point of view — you’re looking straight at the person filming, which breaks immersion completely. If you try to sync your cadence to the video, it’s clunky and feels unfinished.

The cycling side has the same issue, plus you’re required to connect your equipment — there’s no simple “just play the video” mode if you want to ride without pairing gear. On top of that, it kept dropping my heart rate monitor connection mid-session, which got old fast.

The one real positive is the sheer library of videos available. But between the perspective problems, the sync issues, and the dropped HR connection, I regret paying for a subscription — I should’ve just let the free trial expire.

The least responsive sports tech company on the planet

I bought a Peloton and Fitswitch in order to use Kinomap.

I have been trying to get into work for almost a month. The Kinomap support documentation is about 30% accurate.

The support team doesn’t understand the products that they’re selling or how they interact with other technologies that they advertise compatibility with.

They are completely unhelpful in customer, interactions, and even go beyond that to being arrogant with customers who have legitimate questions actually trying to use their product.

I even tried reaching out to the CEO of the company and he was snarky and rude and non-responsive.

I would stay as far away from the products the technology, the people as you can. I use a wide variety of sports tech, including Garmin, Strava, Slopes for skiing, Life Fitness Golf Pad for golf, and a wide variety of other technologies.

In addition, I was a cycling coach for 10 years and have had a career in technology, including as a VP of product management in software and hardware companies.

This is the worst customer interaction I’ve ever experienced. I’ll ever wanted to do is to get their product to work. I recommend you stay away.

Potential is great

Although I have really good coverage in my area, this app is losing connection and buffering every time, which defeats purpose of racing others. Disappointing. Have deleted it now.

Was Great For A While

Then the app just churns and churns. Never opens up. It’s a poorly written app that hangs up a lot.
