Bad service
Worst experience. We returned the car, but their parking spot was blocked. Staff told us to park nearby and email photos, which we did immediately. However, they forgot to move the car and we got a government parking fine months later! Now they are refusing to take responsibility and transferred the fine to my name. Extremely negligent and terrible customer service.

AVOID THIS COMPANY
I PAID THE RENTAL FEE.
I PAID FOR THE FUEL MYSELF BECAUSE THEIR FUEL CARD WAS MISSING.
I RETURNED THE CAR WITH FUEL STILL LEFT IN THE TANK.
I WAS DENIED A FUEL REFUND.
I WASTED MY OWN TIME AND MONEY FIXING KINTO’S MISTAKE.
Here’s what happened: I rented a KINTO vehicle and drove from Melbourne to Echuca and back in a single day. When I picked up the car, it only had 2 fuel bars remaining out of 8. By the time I needed to refuel, there was only 1 bar left. I then discovered that the fuel card was missing from the vehicle. I immediately called KINTO customer service. The representative instructed me to pay for the fuel myself and assured me that I would be refunded once I sent them the receipt. Trusting their advice, I paid out of my own pocket and submitted the receipt. The next day, I rented the same vehicle again and discovered the fuel card was still missing. Once again, I had to pay for fuel myself. Now KINTO is refusing to pay me back, claiming the vehicle “could not have taken 30 litres of fuel.” How is that my problem? The vehicle was handed over with almost no fuel, the fuel card was missing, and I only paid because KINTO’s own customer service told me I would be refunded. There was even still fuel left in the tank for the next customer to use. RIDICULOUS. They even didn’t give me a sorry, but I wasted my time and energy to solve this, and ruined my mood.
Extremely disappointing experience. Be very careful if you rent from KINTO and make sure everything is documented. (Get a body cam maybe)

Improving the Payment Recovery Experience
The KINTO app offers a great concept for seamless car sharing, but the payment recovery process could be much smoother. Currently, if a payment is declined due to a simple bank error or card limit, there isn’t an easy way to instantly retry the transaction or swap cards within the app. This often leads to bookings being canceled or requiring manual support, which takes away from the otherwise digital and convenient experience.
Adding a short grace period or a manual "Pay Now" button would be a helpful improvement. Allowing users to resolve payment issues quickly through Apple Pay or Google Pay would prevent unnecessary stress and keep the process efficient. It’s a solid service overall, but making the financial side as flexible as the car access would make it much more reliable for everyday use.

Big mess around
Membership somehow got declined under my partners name, he called and was told it would take an hour or 2 to work. We waited then called since we never received the email we were meant to, then we were told that their main office hours were over and that we shouldn’t have been told to wait. Just tried this morning under my name instead since they wouldn’t talk to my partner since I used my phone number for his sign up and he was at work with his phone, and somehow been delclined again. Called to see if there was something wrong and I just got they can do it for whatever reason and don’t need to say. She was very rude and cold even if it was an age issue or something I’d understand. I’m 20 personally and my partner is 21, so I can get with my age but most car rentals 21 there’s no issue.

Great flexibility
I had a trip cancelled by airline and had to cancel. Every other company made a refund so hard. Not Kinto, I just hit cancel booking in the app and was refunded within minutes. Never using standard car hire ever again!
