Choose weeknight, Sunday supper, backyard fire, diner, bistro, or chef's table, and Kabinet cooks in that register — with the technique and the vocabulary to match. It refuses to blur them: a smashburger never arrives on a brioche bun, and a chef's-table plate never arrives family-style. START WITH WHAT YOU'VE GOT Open the app to a grid of main ingredients, ranked by what you actually cook. One tap on "pork shoulder" gets three ideas in three different registers. TALK IT THROUGH Don't know the whole change yet? Just ask. "I only have cider vinegar, will that work instead of sherry?" — Kabinet tells you what it changes and what to adjust to compensate. "Also my tomatoes are plum, not cherry." It keeps a running list of everything you've agreed and rebuilds the recipe once, when you're ready. Nothing changes until you say so. ELEVATE ANYTHING Ask for an elevated version of a dish and get real technique — a cure, a reduction, a temperature swap — with exact numbers, plus a substitution ladder for anything you can't get locally. Every change becomes a new variant, so the version you already liked stays exactly where it was. MULTI-DAY BUILDS A dish with a cure started three days out and a sauce built separately isn't a numbered list. Kabinet gives each part its own ingredients, steps and lead time, and tells you when to start each one. Change one part without regenerating the rest.
