I’m so disappointed with the changes to the app and how it turns off constantly now! I use to use this app all the time now I’m considering finding something new, as it’s no longer helpful.

Old version better than the new version
However, they updated the app and are now adding a timer that causes the nightlight to shut off after a short interal. In order for it to stay on all night, you have to pay them five dollars for the app. I realize that’s not a lot of money, but it’s just really annoying that they took away the free features.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. There seems to be a misunderstanding about how our timer feature works, and we'd like to clarify. The nightlight function in KiwiLights is designed to stay on continuously - there is no automatic shutoff unless you specifically set a timer. The timer feature we added is completely optional and was included based on user requests for battery conservation and sleep enhancement. We’re still working on the landscape mode and also a standby mode when you turn your phone to the side. That will also be free to use. Coming in the next updates. You do not need to pay $5 to keep the nightlight on all night. The core functionality of using KiwiLights as a continuous nightlight remains free, just as before. The premium features include additional characters, enhanced features, and extended timer options, but not the ability to keep the light on. We apologize for any confusion! If you're experiencing the app shutting off automatically, this might be a technical issue we need to investigate. Please contact us through the app's settings page with details about your device model and iOS version so we can help resolve this problem. Thank you!

The Koala character is particularly special to us, and we're sorry to hear the new design didn't meet your expectations. While we made these changes based on user research and feedback, we recognize that design preferences are personal. We'd genuinely appreciate hearing more specific aspects of the previous design you preferred, as this helps inform our future updates. Then I thought that if I'm going to have a flashlight app, it might as well be a cute one and this one is pretty cute AND no ads AND it's simple which is just what I was looking for!
I like that it has no ads, it's simple and cute. I like how you swipe the sun and moon to turn the flashlight on/off. I like the battery on the corner and the feature to change the iphone screen brightness looks useful to me too because I'm always changing my screen brightness manually on the iphone settings so doing it through this app instead is a quicker alternative. All in all, this is a lovely app! Good job!
