Fantastic app - make what you want your way!

This app allows you to make a knitted garment in whatever ply or style for sweaters (jumpers in Australia) that you want. Carefully enter your measurements for the pattern to fit you perfectly and don’t forget to know your tension (yes, knit a gauge square!). I am on my third garment from using the app. Highly recommend.

Good basic shapes

Ok for basic shapes but what about a pocket or adding a hood? Needs more variety.

Exactly What I Was Looking For

As a 5ft3in woman, I find 99 per cent of ready-to-buy knitwear far too long in the body. It bunches up at the stomach, creates unwanted folds and never looks elegant. On top of that, the fashion these days is for unisex, relaxed-fit, loose, dropped-shoulder, boxy styles. This shape also transfers itself to the majority of knitting patterns available for purchase. I believe that the reason is that with so many women now being overweight, manufacturers and shops have a far greater chance of selling their garments and avoiding returns if they opt for loose-fitting, somewhat shapeless garments that fit all shapes and sizes. However, they don’t work so well on small, slim women, and the lack of shaping often results in surplus fabric under the armpits. It’s only on vintage patterns that you’re likely to find fitted shapes with cinched-in waists. An added problem is the quality of the yarn. If you want pure wool, the knitwear shops limit you to expensive, ultra-thin cashmere or fine merino at one extreme or chunky knits at the other extreme, with very little choice in between. DK weight is virtually non-existent in shop-bought jerseys, and Arans tend to be bulky cable designs or outdoor fisherman’s knits. This app solves all of these many problems at one stroke and takes all the maths and design work out of the equation. No need to adapt patterns any more. It takes three minutes to create a pattern tailored to your own body measurements and to your own ideal garment measurements. No need to refer to complex tables and charts and no need to constantly be getting out the measuring tape. It’s all worked out for you before you even start to knit.

The program is stunning

The best app ever

Necklines always very large

I only ever use the machine knitting facility on this app and although it works very well for body sizes the necklines come out huge no matter what reductions are made to the instructions before the pattern is generated. This is even with an accurate gauge being entered and matched up. The latest issue of many was I asked it to make a pattern with a 2.5” depth neck for a jacket which ended up halfway down my chest and right across my shoulders, wasted so much yarn. Unfortunately I didn’t get a response when I emailed. Just stick to cut & sew for necklines and you will be ok. I have seen other people comment on this issue in Machine Knitting groups online but otherwise it’s a good app.

Knits that don't fit

Trying the free pattern I can't knit the garment I want in the yarn I want or the size I want, using the measurements I need. So, how do I know if the paid version does what I need it to do? And that I can produce a knit that fits 🤷🏻‍♀️

My review.

Remove app
I am unable to navigate and would like a refund. I purchased the upgrade thinking it would help my understanding but it didn’t. Please. I’m so confused. Thank you

WORTHLESS

I would give zero stars if I could. First of all, the app told me I need 401 yards of yarn for a men’s sweater. Then it told me to cast on 24 stitches for the back. The free trial did not give me enough information for me to know whether it would suit my needs, so I downloaded the paid version and this is what I got. $14.99 down the drain. 🤬

🙁

Impossible to use: the app keeps crashing every time I try to open it. And apparently I can’t ask for a refund. Not happy at all…

Paid for premium, not premium

I paid for premium. The app wouldn’t create new patterns. It did for years and now it won’t. It keeps closing and shutting down on me. I reset my phone, still won’t work. I deleted the app and tried to re-install and now I no longer have premium and I still can’t create patterns. Buggy.

Constantly Closes

YES I paid $15 for the premium about 1 week ago, today is 1/27/2024. Created a pattern and each time I go to open it the APP CLOSES each and every time without fail. Apple used to have more refined developers who support their app.

I say this because other review have stated this as an issue, I purchased anyway thinking it would have since been resolved and hasn’t. Neither has the developer responded to prev customer query.

Please fix this, so many awesome features, measurements & everything for something so minor to ruin all the developed efforts😔

In the end please advise on a fix or kindly refund.

I didn’t cry this much when I learned to knit

Glitchy and completely unusable. Don’t go premium, just take 15 bucks and flush it.
Took many, many try’s to get a pattern and never saw it because any time I choose my saved pattern the app closes. Abysmal.

Response from developer

Sorry that you have experienced this issue, this will have been specific to the combination of settings for this particular pattern as the app usually works without problems. I use it myself, it works! I have released updates recently that may have fixed your problem. I wish you had contacted me before writing this review, to give me the chance to investigate the problem and fix it. If you are still experiencing issues please contact me via the contact form on my website KnitsThatFit.

Amazing App for Custom Sweaters

I have been trying to create my own sweater knitting patterns and was using formulas, books, spreadsheets etc. until I found this app, which magically creates a pattern with so much flexibility. The application designer was very (!!) responsive to my questions. I highly recommend this app, it’s amazing and has so many features!

BEWARE

When downloading the App I got a confusing pop-up asking to confirm payment details. Turns out it’s an ad for Alltainment, which is a scam. They now have my credit card details. Had to cancel my card. Not happy!

Works great for machine knitting

I use this app for knitting on my LK150. So far everything I’ve made has fit and the calculations have been just fine. If I have a complicated lace pattern I might make the garment a bit bigger but that’s just me. Great app!

Purchased upgrade and received nothing

I purchased the upgrade as soon as I bought this so I could design what I wanted, and I was still limited to the free version. I’m going to as Apple for my money back

Disappointed

I paid $4.99 for the sweater generator. I could not use it. Every move I made was limited by an add pushing the more expensive version. If $4.99 is not the price then don’t sell a $4.99 version. It was the most disgusting and frustrating app I’ve ever purchased. Keep the money if it’s so important, I deleted from my phone and wish I could delete it from the cloud!

Response from developer

I don’t know what you purchased, but I don’t sell $4.99 version!

Wanted too much personal info

Could not try it out without entering my credit card info. Very small print listed the price at nearly $50.00 per MONTH. That is just insane.

Knits that fit app

Not worth taking a chance of paying for this! With such limited options to see what might work it’s impossible to think of buying it. The sizes offered as options are totally wrong. Adult womens large has a bust size of 35 inches and 39 inch waist??? If that is the sample it is totally wrong so why would anyone pay for this?
