Fantastic app - make what you want your way!
This app allows you to make a knitted garment in whatever ply or style for sweaters (jumpers in Australia) that you want. Carefully enter your measurements for the pattern to fit you perfectly and don’t forget to know your tension (yes, knit a gauge square!). I am on my third garment from using the app. Highly recommend.

Good basic shapes
Ok for basic shapes but what about a pocket or adding a hood? Needs more variety.
Exactly What I Was Looking For
As a 5ft3in woman, I find 99 per cent of ready-to-buy knitwear far too long in the body. It bunches up at the stomach, creates unwanted folds and never looks elegant. On top of that, the fashion these days is for unisex, relaxed-fit, loose, dropped-shoulder, boxy styles. This shape also transfers itself to the majority of knitting patterns available for purchase. I believe that the reason is that with so many women now being overweight, manufacturers and shops have a far greater chance of selling their garments and avoiding returns if they opt for loose-fitting, somewhat shapeless garments that fit all shapes and sizes. However, they don’t work so well on small, slim women, and the lack of shaping often results in surplus fabric under the armpits. It’s only on vintage patterns that you’re likely to find fitted shapes with cinched-in waists. An added problem is the quality of the yarn. If you want pure wool, the knitwear shops limit you to expensive, ultra-thin cashmere or fine merino at one extreme or chunky knits at the other extreme, with very little choice in between. DK weight is virtually non-existent in shop-bought jerseys, and Arans tend to be bulky cable designs or outdoor fisherman’s knits. This app solves all of these many problems at one stroke and takes all the maths and design work out of the equation. No need to adapt patterns any more. It takes three minutes to create a pattern tailored to your own body measurements and to your own ideal garment measurements. No need to refer to complex tables and charts and no need to constantly be getting out the measuring tape. It’s all worked out for you before you even start to knit.

The program is stunning
The best app ever
Necklines always very large
I only ever use the machine knitting facility on this app and although it works very well for body sizes the necklines come out huge no matter what reductions are made to the instructions before the pattern is generated. This is even with an accurate gauge being entered and matched up. The latest issue of many was I asked it to make a pattern with a 2.5” depth neck for a jacket which ended up halfway down my chest and right across my shoulders, wasted so much yarn. Unfortunately I didn’t get a response when I emailed. Just stick to cut & sew for necklines and you will be ok. I have seen other people comment on this issue in Machine Knitting groups online but otherwise it’s a good app.
