There are way better guides.. sorry.

I understand patron but $32/year for a mediocre app when there are better is ridiculous. Even the half hitch is blocked for people who have already paid for the app. Other apps provide 3D animations and don’t require you laborious flipping to see the results. Sorry.

Tech money grab

It was nice, now like most digital
trash it’s a subscription service… for tying knots? But a book it last a lifetime and no reoccurring cost.

No longer any use as useful knots need a subscription

This was a great app. Unfortunately over the last few months the useful knots have been taken away and are now part of a paid subscription. For example when I last looked the bowline is no longer free. If you are prepared to pay it is good.

Great when free - (k)not worth paying for.

I really liked the app when it was 100% free. I understand the developers want to make money and/or cover their costs. However, the subscription model just doesn’t make sense for this type of app - it’s not a use every day kind of app. There are plenty of other places to look up knots for free. There’s about to be one less app on my phone.

Meh

I’ve had this app for a number of years. When I first got it, it was completely free. I understand maintaining these apps takes time, effort, and money, but to start charging a recurring fee for info that is readily available for free on many other apps, not to mention the internet, nah don’t think so.
Anyway, yeah y’all have a good app, but I’m not paying for something I can very easily find for free elsewhere, like Knots by Grogg (outstanding app and website) and many others.

Business model

Did you move ‘free’ knots to the ‘paid’ knots section?

It used to be great

I bought this app years ago, it was great originally now in a recent update many of the knots are only available for subscribers, including some that I believe included in the old version. Super disappointing

Poor value

More than 60 of the 168 knots are only available to patrons paying almost £3 a month… for a knot guide… are they joking?

There are equally good if not better apps available for a reasonable one time fee and there are several free websites with even more knots.

HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!!!!

As an old man & life-timer in Scouts …. THIS THE A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT FOR THE COST!!! Better apps are available to help you teach kids knot tying.

Rip off

You pay to buy the app, with no mention that there is a subscription fee.

And after paying for the app, you find out the majority of the knots are not accessible unless you pay a subscription fee.

What is the world coming to?

Subscription required!

A large number of useful knots are locked behind a subscription. This is not mentioned up front. I paid for the app and then was immediately confronted with locked-out content and subscription options. Knocked a couple stars off and removed app because of this bait and switch maneuver. Hope you get some mileage off my $3 donation.

I originally paid for this app

I paid to have this app and now they want me to also pay a subscription fee?! You can buy any one of the other apps for less then 2 month of the subscription fees.

Subscription

Funny how I paid for this app fully-featured in 2018. I redownload it and I need to pay a monthly subscription to see half the knots

Ridiculous!

Why Subscribe?

Why would anyone subscribe to something that doesn’t change.
That’s like getting a magazine subscription for the same exact same magazine every month.
Greed has destroyed several apps.

Ridiculously priced subscription model

Used to be good as a paid app but now want to force a very high subscription price.

There are other apps out there such as knots 3d which offer a far fairer price

People who bought the full version lose access to a lot of content.

Developer forced all old users to subscription model for content they already paid for. The fair thing would be that new users pay for a subscription.

There are better apps for knots than this one. I do not recommend.

Tough to make a living in the app economy

This app was a go to for me. I'm not great with tying knots, but it was very helpful since it's inception. Now, spring 2024 I cannot open a single knot without them pitching me for a monthly or a yearly subscription. SaaS is a complete racket. I already paid for this. I won't be using this app again.

Paid version of a free app

Everything in this app is identical to the free version. Scam.

Átverés

Megvettem a fizetős verziót, jól is működött, aztán kitalálták, hogy ezentúl már nincs a csomagban a videó, azért fizess havonta! Sokkal olcsóbban van jobb app, amit csak 1x kell megvenni.

Was brilliant, now awful...

After using occasionally for years, I find it now requires a monthly subscription to use fully. After buying the app initially I didn't expect to have to pay monthly fee to use it. Grrrr. I'd be happy to see ads or pay a one-off additional fee but refuse to pay monthly sub for very occasional use... Rip-off! DON'T BOTHER!
