Excellent application
I have been using the basic version of the application for over a year now. Bought the world map option. I use it to record all cycling and hiking. Also to plan cycle routes. Very happy with its performance.

This app is UX disaster
When you open the app, the first thing the app shows you is completely useless information with challenges and updates from random people. The primary thing I use the app for is navigation and route planning, why not show me that first?
If I have an e-bike, why do I have to select that option every single time I plan a route? Why not just ask me what I prefer and make that the default?
How come route planning and biking navigation is two separate functions? Why not integrate them both? Or at least do a better job of blending the two features together in a not so clunky way.
The hard product is fine and I can appreciate the actual maps and navigation is good, but I don’t understand many of the design decisions here. The app can has a lot to improve with practicality and efficiency.

Ok, but serious flaw where it matters most
You cannot add or change a route in offline mode - this handicaps the app for no apparent reason (and none is given in the app). I paid for an offline map and I am expecting full app functionality. In the outdoors, especially the mountains, internet connections are frequently patchy or non-existent whilst the ability to (re)plan as weather conditions or circumstances change remains absolutely crucial. The design decision to link any planning to an internet connection therefore is a serious flaw. And there’s no warning of this limitation before purchase, only to be discovered in the situation. Not just very annoying as it leaves you stranded but potentially dangerous too.

Poorly thought out
I just wanted to initially plan my route for my travels next week so from a different location. This app cannot do that. It just keeps mapping me from home. Not everyone wants to hike from their front door.

I have now used this app for a week tracking across Wiltshire and Somerset.
It could be better. It doesn't feel like an App developed like walkers and there are essential things that don't work. The ability to report wrong routing does not work. The ability to simply generate a loop walk so you end up where you started is not available. It's just not that intuitive for the cost of it.

The app has lots of bugs and glitches all the time. Bad user experience.

I like to track my cycling but the constant ads I’m getting to update to premium are making me regret buying this and look for alternatives. I do not need the premium features, please stop nagging me

don’t even bother downloading it. if you have a problem with this app you won’t get a human, you’ll have days of pointless repetitive questioning by their stupid ai chatbot, then they’ll close your case without a resolution. but they’ll happily take your money! ridiculous
Less and less usable
Used to be a really nice app that would let me focus on navigating on a map. Unfortunately it has become very bloated with awful features and clutter. It constantly spams “offers” even when you have already bought the full map pack. The pricing these days is completely unreasonable.

This app used to be very solid. But now it randomly stops tracking and then an indefinite amount of time later draws a straight line to where you end up.
It also will end a hike saying, for example, 2600 ft of elevation gain but then later it will randomly change to, for example, 2350 ft of elevation gain when you look at your saved activities.
It’s essentially completely untrustworthy and inaccurate. It’s really sad because it could be a great app.
It used to work fine until Bending Spoons bought it. What an absolutely worthless company. Thanks for ruining something that used to work well.

An embarrassment of riches
So good, lots of routes, great variety and well organised so planning is simple, efficient and effective meaning more time on my bike squeezing in short rides or day long tours.
All goot with kamoot
Used it in Germany Austria and now the states. Love it. I do wish the navigating was not so expensive. I just load the map and watch the ball

Absolutely amazing for finding mtb’ing routes
Dangerous! Do not trust!
My wife and I took the orrido de sagrada hiking route recommended by komoot. Unfortunately for us, the last leg of the hike was completely washed out. We found ourselves in a VERY dangerous situation!
Worse than that, I immediately tried to mark this as impassable so others wouldn’t make the same mistake. Shockingly, komoot won’t let me comment on this route. There’s no place to give feedback!!!
Find another, more trustworthy app. komoot led us into a very dangerous situation and prevents you from warning others. The publishers of this app may very well face criminal liability if someone gets hurt following their recommend hikes.

Not what Komoot used to be!
I absolutely loved Komoot but over the last year it has changed which is disappointing. The price is also a contributing factor
Way too expensive
Made a mistake thought it was £5 a month shocked to find out was per week charge. Not as smooth as os maps.
Just a constant frustration
Used this for the last few years, but it’s still got the same annoying features that make creating and editing a multi day tour almost impossible. I’m going to cancel my subscription this time,

Terrible cancellation instructions
It is so confusing how to cancel after the free period. It directs you to multiple places and none of them actually show how or where to cancel. They all forward you to the same page or area in the app that’s irrelevant.
