Better than the actual m1
hours of fun
I love classic synthesizers and being able to noodle around with hundreds of M1 patches to my hearts content for the cost of a trip to a burger joint is awesome. I use it inside iMPC Pro and it works great.
THE ….. M1 !!!!!
iM1 est assurément l’app synthé la plus fiable de toutes celles que j’ai pu obtenir à ce moment.
J’ai pris tous les packs de cartes y compris T1 qui est la génération d’après.
L’appli est stable et supporte très bien la cohabitation dans AUM (certaines, pourtant de synthés réputés décrochent).
iM1 n’a subit aucun désagrément pendant la grosse mise à jour iOS iPhone de 18.x à 26 alors que d’autres app de zics ont eu des vapeurs, des latences ; qui se sont résolues au bout de deux jours, mais iM1 est resté tout le temps opérationnelle. (Apple a changé sa façon de numéroter les iOS).
Le module de recherche d’un son par critères de sonorité ou ambiance sonore souhaitée est très bien fait. Ne changez rien !
A priori uniquement disponible en roastbeef, je suis en train de traduire la doc en bon solognot. Je la mettrai en ligne une fois finie … un jour … :) …. Que les bretons, les berrichons, les corses, gens du pays d’oc et les autres se rassurent, vous la comprendrez aussi. :)
C’est mon appli fétiche ; même si j’en utilise d’autres pour des gros sons. Elle fonctionne toujours !
Je l’utilise principalement pour les petites sorties sans matos "lourd", pour les petites répèt’s, en vacances ….
Elle est toujours là. Soit dans l’iPad ou l’iPhone. Et j’ai toujours avec moi le "fameux" camera connection kit sans lequel aucun clavier midi ne peut-être connecté (les derniers devices Apple sont en USB C et s’en passent).
Mon utilisation est uniquement le presets déjà faits. Je n’ai pas le temps ni l’envie de chercher à créer ni modifier des sons.
La communication de l’audio en numérique via l’USB passe très bien. J’ignore si l’appli y est pour quelque chose mais j’utilise toujours, soit un boîtier carte son, soit un clavier compatible audio USB dont les DAC dans les deux cas sont bien meilleurs que ceux d’un iPad quelle que soit sa génération (la sortie casque n’est pas faite pour ça). Mais une fois envoyé sur une petite sono personne n’est capable de dire que le son produit provient d’une app iOS !

日頃からGaragebandの方でプラグインとして使わせていただいておりますが、本日から「iM1はお使いのipadでは使用できません」というメッセージが表示されてGarageband経由で開けなくなりました。
容量は不足しておらず、強制再起動等色々試してみましたが復旧しませんでした。
とても気に入っていたアプリだったのでかなり落ち込んでいます。
もうガレージバンドでは使えなくなってしまうのでしょうか。

Incredible Quality
I’ve deliberately ignored this due to there being no legitimate reason for the non AU compatibility - and I’m so glad I held off!
I had the pleasure of owning several of these incredible keyboards in the mid to late 90’s and on, and other than the Wavestation, the 01/RW and Trinity Moss there have been very few to inspire so much from the presets alone. The M1 took several months to really get to grips with, it’s sound, the sequencer, the effects - everything about it was mind-blowing and I loved it. The feel of it, the action, everything - utterly jaw dropping.
Well since this went AUv3 and dropped in price it was a no-brainer, and I’ve not had so much fun with a soft-synth since the Legacy Collection was first released.
The software behind this though, including all the cards I could never afford has taken me right back - I’ve sat for hours being inspired again purely from the presets alone - I know there’s no sequencer and it could probably benefit from it, but aside from that, the faithful reproduction compared to the hardware version is like no other synth available - this is a must for anyone who’s owned the M1 and those that haven’t, because it really is the most incredible piece of musical electronics engineering bar none! The Triton LE was more inspiring than the Triton Studio, the Extreme was awesome, the Trinity Moss was a dream, and the Korg Kronos is unbelievable - but this is the Queen of them all, and to be without it now I have it again is unimaginable - the depth of programmability is phenomenal, it truly is a beautifully inspiring piece of software and I couldn’t rate it highly enough. Get it, get the cards, and enjoy, because I guarantee that no other softsynth will ever be as inspirational as this is - on almost every level it’s identical to the original in terms of sound, even better in some cases, less so in others - but nothing else touches it! I love it, so thank you Korg for making an old-timer extremely happy and blown away! It’s incredible.

Poorly supported with GarageBand
After a while of using it as an Audio Unit extension on GarageBand it suddenly becomes unavailable, doesn’t load or GarageBand can’t seem to find it. Although the app works by itself, it’s very frustrating since it can’t load on my GarageBand projects. The only solution is to delete GarageBand and reinstall it but it’s obviously not convenient.

The great M1 without the weight!
You know, back in my day we fell in love with the original Korg M1 — that workhorse keyboard that showed up in hit after hit: the organ riff in Robin S — “Show Me Love” (that I17 Organ2 patch) , the ubiquitous “piano-16’” lines in house tracks, Rhythm Is a Dancer by Snap! , and the lush pads and strings that haunted ballads and soundtracks alike. The original M1 defined a generation of sound. 
Now, iM1 brings that legacy into your iPad or iOS device, polished and empowered. This isn’t a mere emulator — it’s a revival, a reawakening. The sonic authenticity is stunning: the same shimmer, the same metallic bite in the keys, the same depth in the pads — only now with more modern flexibility, more modulation, more routing, more control. It feels like I’ve taken that vintage M1 I once gigged with and given it a new heart, new lungs, but kept its soul intact.
If you loved the sound of the original M1 — or if you’re young and chasing that classic 80’s / early 90’s vibe — iM1 feels like destiny. It’s respectful of its history, yet arms you with modern tools. It brings the best of then and now into your hands.

I just linked this through my iPad and iConnectivity Mio to my Korg Prophecy synth through MIDI - now I have a Korg M1 too without having to make room in my house for one !!

Add a Reset Value Option
iM1 is one of the best AUV3 plugins available. It’s super easy on the system resources and having multiple instances in your project is a breeze. I love it except sometimes its square size makes it hard to fit in spaces on a rectangular screen. I work around that though and won’t rate it less. One important change should me made. Please add double tap to reset values to zero on knobs and sliders. Currently your apps have no way to do this and it becomes time consuming to reset values. Thank you!

Alors qu’il suffit de cliquer deux fois dessus auparavant pour que le nom se mette à jour, et ainsi pouvoir faire la manipulation, sans réécrire le nom
Pour résumer, il suffit lorsque l’on choisit un patch de cliquer deux fois dessus, au lieu d’une fois pour savoir où on en est et que l’afficheur du haut soit à jour

いくら音が良くても。
PC版を愛用しています。基本的な操作感はiPadでも同じですが、コンビネーションモード等に設定されている音色を白紙にすることが出来ません。勿論音色を変える事はできますが、おすすめとして既に設定されているChoirやStringsなどのパラメータ(パン振りやスプリット、ボリュームレベルなど)は全て残るので、一つずつ手動で戻さなければなりません。PC版ではクリア機能が実装されており、白紙から作り上げる事が出来ます。いくら音が良い、懐かしいなどと言ってもこんな基本的な操作すら出来ないUIではまず使う気にすらなれません。そもそもおすすめのテンプレート自体不要。どうせ皆使っていないでしょう。また、これはPC版も同様ですが、何故キーワード(名前)で音色を検索できないのか疑問です。人気順なんてどうでもいいです。欲しいと思った音を何十分も掛けて探すのは骨が折れます。実機よりかはマシ、を言い出したら終わりですけどね。世のレビューもほとんどは音色を褒めているだけです。

absolutely essential
Excellent for vintage synth sounds
Love this app for the sounds of that era. Perfect for dumgeon synth. I had trouble with Garageband loosing the connection with iM1 but KORG customer service was fast to respond telling me to just reinstall GB. Fixed
