Solid but not great
This is the only local news app I keep on my phone. It is mainly useful for weather and traffic. Ads can be annoying, but the trade off is generally acceptable to me. However, when a push alert tells me there’s a news conference beginning and I click on the notification, I sort of expect to be able to see a livestream. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable expectation when an app pushes a notification to my phone. Instead, clicking on the notification just opens the app and takes me to an hours-old story. Makes me reconsider the value of allowing this app to send notifications.

Missing people photos and typos
I wish the folks feeding news to this app could insert photos properly. You are notifying the public of an endangered or missing person but half the time the persons face is cut off so you cant see it. And a spell check would be nice. C’mon you guys. This is 2026!!!’
Glitches
UPDATE 7-16-25 This issue appears to be resolved with the most recent update. 4 stars will be 5 if weekend news coverage ever improves: lots of updates during the week, but not so much weekends and holidays.
PREVIOUS POST: I keep waiting for this app to be fixed. News stories close on their own taking you back to the main menu repeatedly. Sometimes you can scroll and the story you were reading will reopen automatically but starting from the beginning. Other times it won't. Sometimes you can close and reopen the app itself multiple times without letting your phone go to sleep, and the glitch will resolve. Other times it's impossible to read any news on this app. I have an iPhone 12 mini with completely up-to-date software. The app is also up-to-date with the latest update about a month ago. Please fix.

The latest update (7.10) has resulted in strange behavior in the app. When you open a story and begin scrolling down while reading, the app will jump back up to the top of the page by itself, or it will jump out of the article back to the home screen, after which if you pull down, it will jump back into the article you were reading.

No options
Not sure where the rest of the news went but the only news that's available now is "Top News" and "Most recent". There's no national news or sports sections anymore.
Notifications
I’m not sure what happened but notifications don’t come anymore. I used to get at least one every day about the weather. I checked my screen time, and there aren’t any from this app this week or last week.
Also when going back to the main screen after reading a story, the timeline always scrolls way up and away from where I was before I clicked the story.

I have an older iPhone which is perfectly suitable for my needs will not upgrade to the current operating system required by this app. Since I will not be shelling out for a new phone it’s so long KHSB.

Great news - poor interface issues
Sends good headline updates and easy to read article on mobile device. However, once you open an article, tapping the back arrow or drag-n-drop down the article to return to the main screen rarely works. iOS 15 & 16 have the same issue. Has been a problem for months. Have to close the app to get to other articles.

My Wife and I always rely on 41 news and weather everyday for correct up to the minute news and weather. We absolutely love Kevin and Ms Dea for our news, and Gary for our weather. The three of them makes us feel line we are listening to family, and always folks we totally trust. Thank you so much for all that you guys do!!!

I only watch channel 41, I enjoy the breaking news, the reporters, and the sports coverage. Need to give sports a little more time on each of the broadcast.
