No audio

I just downloaded this game today and there appears to be no sound effects or music which arguably is the best part of the game. Highly disappointed.

Good Game, too short

This game is fun, but too short. I wish there was more episodes to buy.

Fav PL title tbh

I’m very happy to see this games been updated! I’ve loved this game since I was little. I really hope we see more of Alfendi and Lucy someday.

Review disappeared so new review

Amazing game that’s still kept up to date, and has an extremely entertaining story, deserves 2 sequels and an animated movie

Great game

Cool story, great characters, little weird that they keep upping the required iOS version.

Pls make a new yo Kai watch game? 🐱👻⌚️

For the fans can you make a new yokai watch game or mobile game? If not then at least can you return wib wob or any other mobile game? If not al least announce the release Sade for Holly horror mansion? And one more request… can you make a new season for the anime? If you did any of these requests then that would be sweet. Love timajae white.

This game deserves a second chance

This is a good game at its’ core. Hershel Layton has a detective, mastermind son with a Jekyll/Hyde personality disorder & unresolved past, and you play as his assistant, allowing you to work with him through Lucy Baker, flipping the convention of the Layton series in which you play as Layton and not Luke on its’ head. On paper, this is a great game and perfect for the visual novel genre as it adds gameplay mechanics similar to various Ace Attorney cases. However, dated references in place of genuine jokes or enriching dialogue, limited access to players being that this is a mobile-only game, and poor choices towards POC representation all hold this game back from possibly joining the rest of its franchise amongst the greats. Interesting to see that it got an update last week for the first time in years. Hope to see this game given a second chance with rewritten dialogue, new animations, and a longer playtime.

Quality lacking

The original Professor Layton Games (that this is based off) I really enjoyed. This I did not. This crime scene game was poorly executed. It jumps around, the writing is poor. I had no will to continue after the first case.
At the beginning you’re asked right after looking at the crime scene who you think did it, but you can’t say your reasoning and your answer makes no difference. You just have to go through the process anyways, and the process makes no sense - you don’t even get to interview all the suspects. (The black suspect, and only POC, somewhat resembles Mr T, and says “I pity the fool” multiple times, for some reason…😒)

Made me feel smart

A lot of times when I play mystery room games, things are just convoluted for its own sake. But with this game I actually felt like everything made sense to the story and when I finally solved them, it felt so good. I loved every character, and the way you investigate things was so well put together that I honestly don’t think I could play another mystery room game without
Comparing it to this gem. Thank you for this wonderful game.

Part 2?

All these years later I still have my fingers crossed for a part two. The game is too good to not have a sequel.

Music/Sound Glitch

I just installed the game when I remembered I bought it years ago. It only remembered I bought one pack and not both which was unfortunate. I ended buying it again to play the game fully but the music and soundtrack is completely gone. It kills the mood that was set for the game. Please fix this so I can play it again

Very slow and boring

I prefer New York Mysteries, Meridian 157, and the Glitch games. Plus I am not sure if the assistant is supposed to be Cockney, but it seems weird.

Don’t bother paying…

…the games, or files or cases etc are repeats of cases you’ve already solved. Who wants to slog through all that dialog, with no chance to interrupt and say IT WAS SUICIDE! and go through all of those steps TWICE?

i hope they never stop supporting this

i love this game, it was my childhood. i hope they keep it compatible with the most current ios forever so i can keep revisiting it

Incredible writing, dialogue included

Majority of people may not agree with me but I think the dialogue is superb. Really highlights the different regional accents in the UK. I absolutely love the way the Scouse accent is written, and that makes the little Scouse delivery boy one of my favourite characters. The spelling of the words and the tone accurately reflects the way people speak in different parts of the UK. Amazing writing. Well done.

This game is a rip off

I purchased the game packs, finished mystery 1 & 2 and the game continues to tell me I have to purchase the game packs again. Not able to use what I already paid for and there is no information on where to get assistance.

One of the best games!

I really love this game. I played the first 2 cases about 12 years ago. Now I bought the rest of cases and finished the story. It’s really worth the money. Really beautiful game.

Nonfunctional when in airplane mode

It’s a decent game with middling puzzles and an interesting story. Unfortunately it refuses to completely load without an internet connection.

I always come back to this game

I’ve purchased and played this game 3 different times. Such a memorable game after many years, it still holds up. Top 3 apps I’ve ever played.

mixed

it’s a good game other than some questionable lines in the later chapters? lucy asks one character with an accent to ‘speaka da english!’
