About

LCN helps ranchers, horse owners, and hobby farmers move animals to safety during BC wildfires — and helps the people with trailers and safe pasture reach them fast. When an evacuation order hits, coordination usually falls apart across Facebook groups, group texts, and phone trees. LCN puts owners, haulers, and hosts in one place so help gets matched in minutes, not hours. LCN connects people; you coordinate the details by phone. The app is built to never become the bottleneck. LCN is not a government service and is not affiliated with Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (EMCR), BC Wildfire Service, the RCMP, or any fire authority. Always follow the official instructions of authorities on the ground. FOR LIVESTOCK OWNERS • Register your property and animals once, before fire season. • When you need help, activate a request in two taps. • See who's coming, how many animals they can take, and call them directly. • No-smartphone neighbour? Create a profile for them and activate on their behalf. FOR HAULERS • See nearby requests on a live map, ranked by urgency and distance. • Know the permit and access status BEFORE you commit — shown large and up front. • Accept all or part of a request. Call the owner and go. FOR HOSTS • List your safe pasture, stalls, or pens and how many animals you can take. • Update your available space in real time as animals arrive. BUILT FOR A REAL EMERGENCY • Big buttons, large text, high contrast — usable one-handed, outside, in smoke. • Every phone number is tappable. • Offline SOS: if the app can't reach the network, text a keyword to activate from your saved profile. • Wildfire and evacuation overlays sourced directly from the Province of British Columbia's open data: BC Wildfire Service (https://wildfiresituation.nrs.gov.bc.ca) and EmergencyInfoBC (https://www.emergencyinfobc.gov.bc.ca). Overlays are for awareness only — the official sources are always authoritative. IMPORTANT LCN is a volunteer coordination tool. It is not an official emergency service and is not affiliated with Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (EMCR), the RCMP, or any fire authority. Access and permit information is owner-reported — always follow the official instructions of authorities on the ground. LCN is a pro-bono project built to help our community. It's free, and it always will be.
