I found this app very useful as we establish a baseline on which to measure, track, and improve critical areas of our organization. Default categories (or critical areas) of Leadership, Customer Focus, Process Management, Staff/Employee Management, and Information/Analysis are provided, each with a list of default statements on which to select and assign a number from 1 – Strongly Agree to 5 – Strongly Agree. All scores are plotted on a Radar Chart. A PDF report with the Radar Chart, statements, scores, Action Items, and Notes can be exported and subsequently emailed. There is also the option to create your own categories and statements.
There is a ton of content in the Learnings section of this app, called the Lean Sigma Roadmap. This Roadmap has a significant amount of information from Managing Change, 5S – basically all the Lean tools - as well as guidance in their application. It’s a book in itself!
We plan on conducting our customized, standardized Assessment every 6 months, and depending on the gaps identified on the Radar Chart, assign responsibilities. We recently gathered as our core management group for our first Management Development Assessment meeting to gain consensus on each of the critical areas and statements. Everyone agreed that this was a very good start and tool to use going forward. Very solid! Looking forward to using other apps in this series!
