Limited teaching capabilities
Dr. Wolf is great for teaching chess terminology and identifying whether a move is good or bad, but it doesn’t really explain why. After two years of using the app and playing many tutored games, I still struggle to plan several moves ahead, recognize a developing strategy, or adjust when an opponent deviates from an expected opening or gambit.
The app often tells me what move to make without teaching me how to analyze the position and reach that conclusion independently. As a result, I haven’t progressed beyond a strong beginner level. This lack of meaningful explanation and genuine instruction is the primary reason I chose not to renew my subscription.

Very good chess tutor!
Too expensive
It should be $5 a year or a one time buy forever
Five stars for sure
I wish the developers would drop some code in to allow us ‘beginners’ to leave ourselves notes. Other than that, it’s spot on.

La version française a été traduite de l’anglais par un traducteur automatique et n’a clairement pas été revue. Le mot évêque est utilisé pour nommer le fou et l’on parle de « promouvoir » au lieu de prendre pour ne citer que deux exemples. Du coup, l’application, en plus de causer de la confusion, enseigne des inexactitudes.
