Simple but effective
Great app. Just wish it has 2 more features. 1) have traditional characters along with simple characters. 2) able to play audio of all the phrases instead of segments now; this help with learning while driving. I do not have to distract myself to press the play button so many time.

Hardly understand the voice. Also speaking fast for a new learner it is hard to catch up with the phrase
Practice your tones!
Although I don’t recommend phrases as a way to learn beginning Chinese grammar or vocab, I do recommend listening to and repeating these phrases as a very helpful method for getting your tones sorted out. I’m an intermediate student but needed to fix my tones and these bite sized phrases (fast and slow) were perfect. selecting and replaying these phrases is much easier than trying to pinpoint something on an mp3 audio recording from my textbooks. The female speaker on these phrases is a pretty fast speaker (the male, is slowed) and great practice.

A lot of unhealthy criticism- translations should focus on bringing the good out of people rather than belittling others.

Great app for using and learning Mandarin , helps me a lot seeing my wife family chinese who struggle with English , so I can find words to be able to translate to them
UNBELIEVABLY IMPRESSIVE
I have just completed a two year Mandarin course by Fluenz which was pretty amazing and I wanted to take it further but I was unable to find anything substantial until I stumbled upon this app!! It is just as great as Fluenz and after trying it out a little I’m able to see myself learning advanced Mandarin with it. With this app one can repeat the phrases over and over till you get it right. There’s even a slow-down button and you can even record your own voice. This app is worth every penny you pay for it and I PROMISE that your Mandarin will improve leaps and bounds.
This app has a solid learning structure, native speakers, a built in dictionary, and ENDLESS samples from everyday life to help you cover all sorts of topic in the real world. I wish I could give it 10 stars

Brilliant
This is the second time I've bought this app. First time was on a non iOS device.
This thing hasn't been updated in years, and nearly doesn't need to be.
I'd like to see an option to make collections of starred phrases, but seriously, as someone who has been studying for years, this is a great reference collection.

Stunning!
This is a pretty stunning achievement. 10,000 Chinese sentences by a native Chinese speaker (not a TTS bot), so you get the actual rhythm and flow of the language. Each sentence can be expanded to show individual words and phrases, along with Pinyin pronunciations and English translations. There's a button so you can play a slowed-down version of the sentence by a different Chinese speaker. I really think vocabulary and grammar are best learned by example - how they are actually used in sentences... and this app is a gold mine of sentences!

It is an excellent tool for people who want to speak accurate Mandarin.
Nice app shame about sound quality
This is actually a really useful app and has so many useful phrases and expressions. There are lots of different categories such as eating out or at the hospital. You can also search by word. There's also a breakdown of each character and it's meaning as well as a slower voice recording which is really good. The only real downside to the app is the sound quality. It's not very clear and it spoils the recordings as sometimes you can barely hear what's being said. Otherwise brilliant app!

A big step above the usual sentence approach in that these sentences are very useful.
Audio plus a built-in word by word explanation is also very valuable.
I highly recommend it if your goal is to actually speak Mandarin.

Did not know this was simplified Chinese, not traditional Chinese
I've been looking to learn traditional Chinese, and I bought this app thinking that it was traditional Chinese. Turns out this is simplified Chinese. I emailed the developers a week ago for a refund and they did not reply.

Worth the money
Good collection of phrases. A favorite phrases section and the ability to record your own voice to check your pronunciation. Also has an alternate recording of the phrase in a male voice for a more complete hearing of the Mandarin pronunciation!

Great app
This app is full of useful phrases read both at normal and slow speeds and gives you the option to record your voice. It's great for getting your tongue around sentences rather than just words and for tuning your ear to the tone of Chinese. Well done to the developers for a favourite app :)
