Well designed & no-nonsense app for everyday practice
I have been looking for a daily learning resource for the levantine dialect for a while and Learn Levantine Arabic does not disappoint.
The design is minimalist and beautiful, which makes it easy to focus on the learning process. With regard to the contents, I look forward to future updates! My only suggestion would be to add a user dictionary that can be edited via the browser and added to the flash cards.
I purchased the full version, which is the best choice if you want to use it for your studies.
It’s priced very fair for the amount of resources it provides.

I think I need to have an idea of the alphabet to get started
bad new update
this has always been one of my go-to resources for Levantine Arabic as a dictionary.
the new update not only hides the dictionary behind another button, but you try to scroll through it and it wants you to subscribe, so you're effectively locked out of reading the dictionary unless you know exactly what you're looking for.
imagine trying to read a physical dictionary and you go to page 3 but you need to buy the whole websters 12 book collection to read the words on one single page...
also the app now feels suspiciously vibe-coded (the first update had all white text on white background making everything invisible) which i hope is not the case. i preferred the older, jenkier version that just worked. the UI design overall feels not intuitive, and now very obviously funnels you to the lessons, some of which don't even work anymore (youtube video links broken/deleted). i just want a dictionary honestly, so making the main feature hidden seems like a huge step backward.
i know it's tough to build an app and to monetize it, but this feels really bad and doesn't encourage me to subscribe at all. i hope this is just a phase and it gets rolled back or something improves. sad to see this app degrade so much.

Keeping up with Levantine
I forgot how I found out about this app but it’s all I can ask and more to refresh my memory when it comes to words in Levantine. Also, it’s the first dictionary EVER which allows you to add new words, which I do constantly. I work and interact with people from Syria to Lebanon to Egypt and so many have different ways to say the same expression, and I need to record all of these for research purposes. Thanks Timothy for the quick responses and for being so helpful. Great app.
