About

Learning to tell time becomes an adventure – with Tinu! Tinu, the friendly little alarm clock, guides your child step by step from their very first look at a clock face to confidently reading times, using the 24-hour format and working out durations. Every explanation is spoken aloud – children who can't read yet find their way around just as easily as confident readers. HOW YOUR CHILD LEARNS • 9 carefully sequenced stages: the clock face, full hours, half hours, quarter hours, 5-minute steps, single minutes, "past" and "to", the 24-hour format, and time spans • An interactive clock with movable hands – just turn them with a finger • Every explanation narrated, with animated highlights on the clock • Mastery tests with stars to complete each stage • Placement test: children with prior knowledge start at the right stage • Daily challenge with smart spaced repetition of exactly the times that are still tricky 8 LEARNING GAMES Clock Bingo, Hands Race, Time Detective, Daily Routine, Time Memory, Train Timetable, Tinu's World Trip and Seconds Stop – each game unlocks once your child has learned what it needs, and explains itself out loud. MOTIVATION THAT WORKS • 15 stickers and badges to collect • Unlockable clock designs • Tinu celebrates every bit of progress FOR PARENTS • A protected parents' area with real learning insights: which times are still difficult? What should come next? • Regional phrasing options (e.g. "quarter past" vs. "quarter after") • Fully resettable when a new child wants to start PRIVACY — PROMISED • No ads, no in-app purchases, no tracking • No internet connection needed – works completely offline • All data stays on the device, full stop Fully voiced in 6 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese and Polish. Recommended for children aged 5 to 10.

What's New in Learn to Tell Time

1.2

August 21, 2026

New in version 1.2: • Every game now has levels that get harder – with fresh questions each time you play, so no two rounds are alike. • The app speaks everywhere: the Mastery Test, the Daily Challenge, the Placement Test and Mixed Practice used to be silent – now every exercise has its own voice, in all six languages. • Tinu's World Trip: your child travels from their own city instead of always from Berlin, and city names and times follow the language you set. • Train Schedule: every question is read out, journey times are realistic, and the answer comes with an explanation. • Lessons: a back arrow returns to the last explanation, and after a mistake the correct answer is shown and spoken. • Ten stories in every language – outside German there used to be only two. • Accessibility: colour-blind mode, larger tap targets and a wider typeface now work throughout the app. • On a turned iPad the clock and the question sit side by side – plus many display and voice-over fixes.
