About
Planning an LED strip build and not sure what power supply to buy, or why the far end looks dim and orange? LED Power turns a few numbers about your strip into a complete, buildable power plan — total load, the right supply, and exactly where to inject fresh power along the run.
Enter your strip's voltage and load (LEDs per metre and current per LED, or watts per metre) plus the length, and get instant answers. Pick from presets for common WS2812/WS2812B, SK6812, and COB strips at 5V, 12V, and 24V, or enter fully custom values. Everything runs on device — no account, no network, no ads.
WHY LONG RUNS DIM
The thin copper rails inside a strip have resistance, so voltage sags over distance. The far end gets less voltage, which means dimmer LEDs and colour that drifts warm because red survives lower voltage while blue and green fade first. LED Power models this with real voltage-drop math and tells you when a single feed is enough — and when it is not.
FEATURES
- Total power and current for the whole run, at full-white worst case
- Recommended power supply with 20% headroom, in both watts and amps
- Warns when the load exceeds common single-supply sizes
- Voltage-drop injection interval: how far apart to re-feed power to stay within your acceptable drop
- Feed from one end or both ends
- Strip map showing every injection point and its exact position from the start
- Wire gauge (AWG) and fuse size for the whole run and for each injection tap
- Presets for WS2812/WS2812B, SK6812, and COB strips; plus fully custom entry
- Brightness cap and typical-animation-draw inputs
- Save projects, reload them later, and copy a plain-text plan to share
- Built-in reference explaining voltage drop, injection, PSU sizing, wire and fuses
- Works fully offline. No sign-in, no tracking
Estimates are for planning only. Electrical work is at your own risk — mains wiring must be done by a qualified electrician and follow local code.
