Useless app
This is supposed to be a virtual phone number app, which means I can register everything online and get activated but no, once you’re done registering it tells you to visit telecom offices or their appointed agent with an ID to get my number activated, how am I gonna do that when I’m outside kenya?
Amazing connection
Aside from not needing data to make calls the quality of the connection of the phone calls are amazing! Usually when I use WhatsApp to call Kenya almost 90% of the time there’s an interruption because of poor connection but with LeDunia I’ve never had any issues.
Life changing app
I’m not one who preferred making international calls over texting.
The technology available hasn’t quite made that experience worth my while (whether it was because of quality connectivity, limited or costly data for my people in the motherland, et al.) there was always a good excuse to not call.
So texting was it for me! So for the past decade and a half since I moved abroad, making calls was something I reserved for emergencies or some other rare occasion, not the norm.
LeDunia changed that for me. I have made more calls to 🇰🇪, to more people and for longer chats, all in the past couple of months than had done so in the past +5 years put together. (That’s how bad my calling habits were 🙈)
“Are you here in Kenya?” has been the usual question within the first few words spoken by those I’ve surprised with a call. They see a local line in the incoming calls screen and when it’s my voice that they hear in clarity of the connection, it takes a couple of minutes for me to convince them I’m really not there, it’s Ledunia doing it’s magic.
Ledunia got me talking, again.
