This is fun and educational

This game is amazing! It teaches you all the details and has me hooked every time. Love it and would recommend ๐Ÿ˜

Adorable game, some info misalignment

As a CDE, I was ecstatic to find a game to recommend to newly diagnosed families. The mechanics are a little unclear in the beginning, but itโ€™s easy to get the hang of them quickly. My only concern is a couple of educational misalignments in the play through.

This game is hard but it can help train people

Overall this game is so fun, helpful, educating, and I would recommend this to any type one diabetics people who take care of a diabetic or a healthcare person that helps people with their diabetes.

T1d slayer

The game is easy to pick up and fun to play

Super fun, and helped a bit with my understanding of t1d.

I found this game, and saw it was โ€œA Diabetes Game.โ€ So i went ahead and tried it outโ€ฆ. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE! I learned about pre-bolusing, and how t1d isnโ€™t as bad as it seems, just a challenge! Super helpful and fun.

Amazing

This game is perfect for little kids if they get diagnosed young and die older kids because it helps to know how to dose and how to manage your lows and highs and everything you need to know to be T1D so I highly recommend this game if youโ€™re type one diabetic so if you are eating really get this game

Best Visual Iโ€™ve Seen

Highly recommend

The most frustrating experience

I was so annoyed with this game I removed it from my phone. There were no instructions about how and when to dose (just constant rebukes about how Iโ€™d failed), no instructions about how to correct what I was doing wrong, there was no juice icon that the website said I was supposed to be able to use to bring up the low sugar. There was no information about how to get help on the app. My son is Type 1 and I know no more now than I did before I started. I kind of want to cry.

Fun teaching tool

I wish this had been around when my T1D was diagnosed. It is a great way to teach the basics and even teach the frustration that comes with T1D. Thank you so much Breakthrough!

great for new diabetics

Iโ€™ve had type one for 15 years, downloaded this game thinking it was going to be another one of those completely inaccurate silly games that just make everything more confusing but it definitely would be helpful as a new diabetic! I do with the units went a bit smaller, sometimes I want to do a little bit less or more than half a unit

Accurate

As a T1d I feel this game breaks down everything really simply and I will definitely make all friends play this

Really Cool

As a type 1 diabetic myself, i've had it for like 11 years now and it was difficult at first to get it all figured out. This game is very educational and fun to play with. I'm happy to know there's a game now that teaches people about Type 1 Diabetes. :)

Mmol for the UK??

This game is amazing, the graphics and tutorials excellently illustrate the ins and outs of diabetes management. Sadly, there is no option to convert the units to Mmol, which we use in the Uk, meaning it would be confusing for my daughter to apply it to her diabetes knowledge.

4-star for potential

Needs a skip button for instructions. Needs an easier to click โ€œpauseโ€ button. Maybe instead of just โ€œinsufficient doseโ€ and โ€œexcessive dose,โ€ tell the use how/why. -Or at least provide an option (โ€œHelp/Hintโ€ to see how/why the game thinks a dose was insufficient/excessive.) Iโ€™m on level 51, maybe it is still coming, but there ought to be a IOB indicator as there is on most insulin pumps/systems.

All that said- SUPER COOL that people took the time and effort to make the game. Kinda feel like the game is more difficult than actual T1Dโ€ฆ for better or worseโ€ฆ

Almost 50 years of T1D

Iโ€™ve had T1D almost all of my life and am in great control. I love the fact that this game was developed to help new diabetics in a relatively fun way. Itโ€™s done with great information and explanations of the things that has taken me decades to understand. Great work to the team behind this.

Great Extra Credit for my Class :)

Love this concept! Iโ€™m a t1d teacher and there is a t1d in my class. I assigned this game as extra credit in science. Itโ€™s a great way to help non-diabetics friends/family start to understand what we do every day.

I appreciate the encouraging feedback to normalize not being โ€˜perfectโ€™ all the time.

I would love to see even more levels (foods with different glycemic index/bolusing for fat/protein, 4 period phases, dawn phenomenon/resistance changes in the morning/night, unpredictable variables/stress/etc).

It might also be helpful to have a character (whoโ€™s customizable?) of the actual person getting tired/cranky/ill etc in the corner. This could help build self-awareness for kids who may not understand how much blood sugar affects their mood/energy and build empathy/normalize the mood swings for frustrated caregivers.

Mmol for UK please

Canโ€™t use in the UK, when will we see Mmols. ?

Love it! Would like a minor change

Love this concept! Iโ€™m just a few levels in. The only issue I have is with the direction that the food enters the timelineโ€ฆ seems like it should enter from the right side to be more realistic. Then you could see it coming to you from the future to โ€˜nowโ€™, instead of creeping up from back in time. At least thatโ€™s how it would make more sense to me.

Mg/dL and mmol/L

Great game so far - playing alongside my son who is 7.
It would be even better if we could switch to use mmol/L as that is the units we work with and would help my son understand it better
