Easy to understand my benefits

Great to have my benefits in one app and I can use the same card for all of them

“Tap and Go”, that’s how I roll!

Level makes using my benefits easy to use, manage and appreciate with simplicity.

Easiest way to use benefits!

I know I’ve left money on the table in past jobs because I couldn’t figure out how to use my benefits, the Level card and app is so simple and convenient to use and automatically knows how to categorize my purchases without me having to dig into program details on the intranet. Love it!

Nothing but problems.

Just tried to use the card to pay for health related travel, and it was declined. What is the point of having the physical card? Also, I can never sign into the app. It just takes me back to the sign in page every time I fill in my sign in credentials. So worthless!

Benefits in my pocket

Level makes using my benefits easy to use, manage and appreciate with simplicity.

User-friendly

Very user-friendly and informative! Prompts are clear and easy to follow.

Level card is my new go-to

I’ve been one to not take advantage of my benefits in the past. Because using the Level card is so easy I’m able to use my benefit dollars and actually enjoy the experience!

So easy!

Level makes using my benefits so easy. The support team always gets back to me very quickly when I have any questions or issues. I wish every company had Level for benefits.

One place for all my benefits

Level makes it easy for me to understand and use all my benefits

Easy to understand and use

This app is so detailed yet so easy to use, never experience any bugs that last longer than a few minutes. It’s insanely good. I can use my card almost anywhere!

Horrible ux

Frustratingly nonsensical, unhelpful UX. Contradicts the most basic of usability heuristics and user mental models for apps, including (but not limited to) IA, navigation, search, consistency, recall, and help. You can’t access your plan or it’s details from the sticky nab bar. Doesn’t actually provide specific details on what treatments are covered and expected patient costs, only provides a few “examples” of things that aren’t covered in a booklet buried 3 or 4 clicks into the app (usually referring to things only by their dental code, putting the burden on users to look up every code to translate the booklet). Imposes lifetime maximums for some treatments but doesn’t allow users to track their progress over that lifetime. There’s no way for users to search for treatment/benefit details. Forces users to memorize instructions with more than 5 steps (!) rather than linking to the specific area in the app. Displays the same “new user/app setup” onboarding screens (like enabling notifications) every time you log in, delaying users’ access to information and forcing them to perform more actions to complete a simple task.

Limited functionality and not user friendly

There is no ability to edit an uploaded receipt. The chat function crashes the app. When you try to call Level, the wait times are like Southwest Airlines. They dispute charges and ask for your entire life history before approving charges.

Response from developer

Hi, riseandshine555 — we're truly sorry to hear about your experience. While you can't edit a receipt you've uploaded to the Level App, you can add a new one at any time while your transaction is processing. When you speak with our team, we do require some information to keep your account secure and make sure your plan funds are used as your employer intended. If your app crashed while sending a message, you may have experienced a bug. I understand you've had trouble reaching us by phone — would you mind sending an email directly to support@level.com? Our support team is ready to help.

App doesn’t work

This app does not work. I was unable to sign up through the app. Every time I tried the interface would bug out and not load properly, leaving me stuck on a blank screen. I was only able to sign up through the website, and now I have to wait for a physical card because I can’t use the card through the app

So. Buggy.

This app has always been iffy...but now I can't even log in. What a mess.

Absolute clowns

This company is poorly managed and sends charges to collections after they’ve been paid. This is such an unnecessary “benefit” and it shouldn’t exist.

Worst. Experience. Ever.

The support received by this company is hands down some of the worst I’ve ever encountered. In fact, it’s been so awful I’ve made multiple complaints to my employer’s Human Resources in hopes we would stop dealing with the nonsense here. Why has the experience been so miserable, you ask? Let me count the ways.
I’ve used my “flexible benefits” administered by Level and submitted a total of 19 claims this year. Of those 19, a whopping TWO cleared without me needing to intervene and handhold them through the transaction. Their software is buggy, and constantly categorized things into the wrong funds. Despite submitting invoices from a licensed therapists office, under the mental health fund, claims were denied and placed under “lifestyle/wellness” until I called to inquire. Clearly identified covered expenses were “not covered” with no explanation until sending a message to support. Good luck getting a response… they’re only available from 9a-9p, and if it’s outside those hours, they’ll close your support request and make you start over again. Nearing the end of the calendar year, multiple transactions that were fully funded and paid are now showing payment due, with no explanation. I’ve reached out AGAIN and was told it’s an engineering problem and they are “working hard” to get it fixed.
Please, please- save yourself the headache and avoid working with Level at all costs.
Developers, if you’re listening, it’s been an entire year of this. Do better for your hard working customers trying to use their benefits.

App doesn’t work at all

After entering email displays blank page

Useless app

Useless app. Can’t check to see if my dentist is in network. Calling customer service is useless too… you’re just on hold for 15 min before being told to leave a message.

Does NOT work as advertised

1. You have to upload receipts for almost everything. 2. They want you to LINK YOUR PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT to their benefits card so that you can pay them back when they screw up your balances or benefits, which is often. Go look at the guy’s review where he was billed like $700 several months after the fact (and their response was basically, track it yourself). It is so much easier to just submit an expense report.

**Updated to address to the developer’s comment: first, thank you for your response. The thing is, I should not have to be making a payment to your company after I am able to charge an expense and then you decided to walk it back. If you are offering to manage my benefits and stipends, then you should actually have a product that is capable of doing that. Approved expenses should go through and unapproved ones should be denied—that’s it.

**Updated again to address the developer’s second comment: when the “coming improvements” happen and the card works, I will update my review. Do you have a date by when I can expect this?

Response from developer

Hi there — we truly apologize for your experience here, and we understand your frustration. If you're having trouble being asked for receipts at a specific covered merchant, or you're concerned about a payment due, please email us at support@level.com. We promise we'll do everything we can to make things easier for you. And to update — upcoming improvements to your card experience will do just what you suggest: make sure the Level Card is declined for ineligible purchases, and approved only for eligible ones. We hope you'll let us make this right. With specific questions or more feedback, please email us at support@level.com. We'd love to open a conversation.

Lots of support needed

Be warned, you need to add receipts with every purchase. They will hit you hard on this without warning. Even my gym purchases with Fitness in the title needed receipts. You must connect your bank account as well to pay them back they don’t offer one time payment. Also no support phone number. Really hard to figure things out with them.

I will update rating if things change. Just be extra careful as a user on this app.

Response from developer

Hi, Adam. I'm so sorry you've found Level difficult to use so far. We'd love to help. First, a quick update — moving forward, your gym will always be recognized as covered by your policy, so you shouldn't be asked for a receipt again. Secondly, while we do recommend linking a bank account for security, you can also pay your balance by physical check (just check our help center for guidance). And finally, we do have a support phone number: (855) 400-5705. Our team is standing by from 7:00am-7:00pm MT, and they're happy to answer any more questions. I hope this has been helpful, and we appreciate your feedback! If you’d like to share more, we’re listening, and we’ll use it to make sure we do better.
