About

Some stories shouldn't have to live in our heads alone. LifeThreads is a gentle, private place to write down the stories that made you — and share them with the people you love, at your own pace. WRITE AT YOUR OWN PACE Start with one memory. It doesn't have to be a long one. Daily prompts make it easy to begin when you don't know where to start: "What was your first job?" or "Tell about a family recipe." Drafts save themselves, so you can put it down and pick it up whenever you like. PRIVACY YOU ACTUALLY CONTROL Every story carries a clear label. Keep it private, share it with a few specific people, or open it to a Circle. Journal entries are always private to you. Nothing is public, ever — there is no feed of strangers, no discovery, no algorithm. SHARE WITH YOUR CIRCLES Make a private Circle for family, friends, classmates, a church group, or fellow veterans, and share only with them. Invitations go out as a simple link. OLD PHOTOS, NEW LIFE Upload the photos from the shoebox and attach the stories behind them. Organize them into albums by year, place, or person, so they mean something to whoever finds them later. LOVED ONES WHO LISTEN Children and grandchildren can read, react, and leave a comment. A small heart goes a long way. BUILT TO BE READABLE Large, comfortable text you can size to your liking, generous tap targets, and a calm layout — designed for people who'd rather be writing than fighting an interface. LifeThreads has no advertising, no tracking, and no data sold to anyone. Your stories belong to you, and you can export or permanently delete everything at any time. Start with one memory today. Someone is going to be very glad you did.

What's New in LifeThreads Memoir

1.0.1

August 11, 2026

WHAT'S NEW IN THIS BUILD This release adds private direct messaging between users, user handles, and the ability to tag people in a memory. WHO CAN MESSAGE WHOM Messaging is not open to the public. A user can only start or continue a conversation with someone who is a member of one of their private circles, and only if neither person has blocked the other. This is enforced on the server for every message send, not in the app UI — if two people stop sharing a circle, an existing conversation stops accepting messages. A handle is only an identifier, never a permission. Knowing someone's @handle grants no ability to message or view them. SAFETY AND MODERATION CONTROLS (all in-app) • Report — available on memories, comments and user profiles. • Block — blocking is mutual and enforced server-side; it stops direct messages in both directions. • Moderation queue — reported content goes to an admin review queue. • Users can delete their own account and all their content from Settings, including their uploaded photos. TAGGING DOES NOT EXPOSE PRIVATE CONTENT Tagging someone in a memory does not grant them access to it. A tag notification is only sent if that person could already view the memory, so tagging cannot be used to reveal a private memory's existence or title. DEMO ACCOUNT Email: appreview@lifethreads.dev Password: LifeThreads-Review-2026! NOTE FOR TESTING DIRECT MESSAGES: because messaging requires a shared circle, the demo account has been placed in a circle with a second test account so a conversation is already visible under Messages. To test sending, open Messages and reply in the existing thread. All accounts are approved and onboarded, so sign-in leads straight into the app.
