User reviews

Unfinished

This app is not even in an alpha state, nothing is really working, design is awful and the person behind this really didn't put any effort into usability or feature completeness

Horrible

App doesn’t work horrible

So bad...

Did the guy who made this pay people to leave good reviews? Absolute garbage app, wouldn’t even play any songs.

YouTube visualizer

Really cool app! However the YouTube visualiser doesn’t work?? Have any tips?

DOES NOT WORK

Will not play music from your playlist, only the demo. Judging from other reviews it’s been like this for months if not longer.

FAQ

What can this app do?

This app allows you to control your LIFX smart bulbs in various dynamic ways. You can sync your lights with music from your iTunes library, match colors to movies using your phone's camera, synchronize with YouTube videos, control hue, saturation, and brightness via phone motion, match lights to photos in your album, shake your phone to toggle lights, and use a siren alarm feature.

How does the music synchronization work?

The app syncs your LIFX lights with music from your own iTunes library. It offers better volume tracking and does not rely on microphone input. Importantly, the music must be downloaded to your device; streamed music will not work for this feature.

Is this app free to use?

Yes, the app is currently free and ad-free. The developer mentions that donations are welcome to help keep the app free, ad-free, and support maintenance.

What devices is this app compatible with?

The description does not explicitly state compatibility requirements beyond needing LIFX bulbs. However, it is designed for mobile devices that can run the app and interact with LIFX bulbs, implying compatibility with iOS or Android smartphones and tablets.

What are some common use cases for this app?

Common use cases include creating immersive movie nights by matching lights to on-screen colors, enhancing music listening sessions with synchronized lighting, setting ambient moods with photo-matched colors, and using the siren alarm for attention-grabbing alerts.
