Not what it used to be
I would like the app developers to comment on what is going on. It seems like the what’s new sections haven’t been updated since February and the Trending sections aren’t very current either. I really used it to keep up with what not to miss and what’s new. I’m sad. I also don’t like how you can’t share your lists with friends so they can see what I am watching and vice versa. All I can really do now is keep lists. I used to use Likewise for:
✅ Tracking what you’ve watched
✅ Maintaining a Want to Watch list
✅ Getting recommendations
✅ Seeing what’s new on Netflix, BritBox, PBS, etc.
✅ Following friends’ activity
✅ Sharing watchlists
And now, from your perspective it doesn’t have
❌ Up-to-date recommendations
❌ Current streaming updates
❌ Social watchlist sharing
❌ Following friends’ watch activity
✅ Tracking what you’ve watched
✅ Maintaining a Want to Watch list

App stopped working now for days. Contacted support and received no reply.
Fun but frustrating
I use this app mostly for keeping track of what I’ve watched/read. The ads that take up the entire screen while I’m in the middle of doing something is diabolical. The app also stops my music because it’s trying to play audio from trailers. Since I don’t use the app for much besides logging the media I’ve consumed, I can’t speak on anything else. I don’t remember there being such annoying ad placements when I downloaded this a couple years (?) ago. Thanks for considering.

They made it bad on purpose
I got this app very shortly after it came out. I actually think I signed up for it before it was fully an app. It worked great at that time because I needed space on my phone. I got rid of it. but then decided to re-download today with the expectation it would be the same as it was. Boy was, I disappointed! You can no longer search for recommendations other people have asked for and now our prompted to ask for your own recommendations, only to be told you have to pay for “more responses”
It’s disappointing because this used to be a very functional database for users to find books that were like other books they liked. They clearly have updated their software to make the user experience, actively negative unless you pay money. Good thing there’s 100 other competitors out there. lol as if Goodreads and Reddit didn’t exist. It is disappointing to see a good app. Go bad though.

I wish it wasn’t so glitchy and easier to navigate
Would be nice to have just the covers of the shows/tv without all the info to make it easier to see many at once. The search experience is super glitchy and sometimes the movie I am looking up doesn’t show up in the top results. Even if I use the exact name. The way to browse lists & movies is also pretty glitchy and hard to use. Tbh I’m sad bc I always wish there was an app like letterboxd but it also includes TV & this was promising but no :/

Very buggy
Was a good app but now it’s very slow and buggy. I agree with others about the ads

once amazing for networking between movie buffs despite the unethical data mining but they added ads, AI AND a subscription plus version service. a bloated and dead app ruined by corporate greed.
It’s dead
It’s a great app with thoughtful features but there’s nothing fun or beyond groups and suggestions. It’s also too expensive for the minimum paid features it offers. It’s a good app but there’s something missing from it.
Spam
They will relentlessly spam your email from constantly newly created email accounts

Ads have rendered app almost useless
I used to love using Likewise to keep track and rate of books. Now there are so many pop up ads and you can’t exit out of them without clicking on the ad! I’ll be switching to goodreads from now on.
I remember this app being better than it is.
I had likewise for maybe a month a few summers ago, and I thought it was everything. I had to delete it to free up storage but recently redownloaded it because I was in a reading kick and wanted new and personalized suggestions. However, what I have come back to is an utter disappointment. My main issue is the ‘for you’ page; it shows 4-8 suggestions a day, and is non-refreshable. Meanwhile, the other tabs like the ‘trending’ and ‘lists from the web’ are extremely lengthy. I would look to these pages for more suggestions, only I downloaded the app for the “personalized” aspect and that is just not what those pages are for. I think this app would benefit greatly from not only having a better system to recommend you content that actually relates to what you have listed in your ‘watched’ or ‘read’ lists, but also a refresh option on the ‘for you’ page.

Could be better, suggestions
What bothers me is the lack of control of my lists.
I would like to be able to :
- Change the watch date for my watched shows
- Edit the order of my want to watch list
These two changes would keep me from moving my lists elsewhere.

Can’t delete asks. Didn’t word my question correctly and couldn’t delete it and not get unwanted suggestions.

Garbage 2.0 the subscription model
2025 update: if I could give negative stars I would. They now have the audacity to try and charge you for suggestions from their hilariously bad algorithm. If you’re looking for book suggestions use MeetNewBooks.
This app is just filled with advertisements and suggestions barely, if ever based on your feedback. If you want a thousand suggestions for romantasy books you didn’t ask for though, this app is absolutely for you.

New update
It’s such a shame when apps suddenly remove features they offered before in order to make it a subscription. Used to like it better before
Used to be great—now it’s a mess
I used to love this app. It was fast, intuitive, and actually did what it promised. Unfortunately, the developers have taken it in a completely different direction—one that feels deliberately clunky and inefficient. The search function barely works now, and the overall experience has gotten worse over time.
It allegedly feels like the decline was intentional to degrade the free version enough to push users toward their subscription model they have now introduced. Whether that’s the case or not, the end result is the same. What was once a genuinely helpful tool has now turned into a frustrating, watered-down version of itself. Really disappointing to see a good thing ruined like this.

Bugs in app
App has way too many bugs. As a platform is very useful but the app keeps freezing and doesn’t fit the screen size properly.
