Terrible app from bad developer👎🏻
I do not recommend this app. The developer initially offered and sold lifetime access, but then that lifetime access was effectively taken away from users: restoring in-app purchases does not work, and the app still keeps showing limits as if no purchase had ever been made.
Even with premium access, the vocabulary here is very poor. No matter which difficulty level you choose, the app keeps cycling through the same small set of very basic words, around 100-150, and possibly even fewer. For a paid product, this is an extremely weak standard.
I do not recommend paying for this. Before purchasing, it is better to carefully read reviews on different platforms, because there are a great many dissatisfied users.

The developer deliberately distributed lifetime access codes and later revoked them. Lifetime access was first given away, then taken back and replaced with a one-year subscription presented as a “gesture of goodwill”. This is not goodwill but a clear substitution of previously promised conditions. Such a marketing tactic is misleading and should not be ignored. Users deserve transparency and fair treatment.

It does not remember your purchase. Even if you press “Restore purchases”, close the app, and tap the widget again a minute later, it will ask you to restore or buy again. The app forces you to press “Restore purchase” many times a day, because it forgets your in-app purchase almost immediately after closing. This was the developer’s way to fix the issue where new words were not updating daily. Yes, now words update, but at what cost? Before, you had to manually refresh a new word once. Now you constantly have to restore your purchase just to make the app recognize that you already paid. The developer clearly does not prioritize usability or user experience.

Great, but…
Really cool app, really enjoyable but once you “know” 90 words you can’t “know” anymore so you’re stuck with the same widget unless you reset them all. Bit of a pain.

Decent widget for beginners
I want to like this app more, but the developer has left it for beginners only. For Japanese, there is a mandatory pronunciation system that cannot be hidden and is a real detriment to learning and retention at the higher levels. I think all the elements of the widget should be customizable, specifically hidden or revealed, and for Japanese in particular the choice of using kana or romaji should be left to the user. Once that is implemented, I believe this could be a fantastic app. For future releases, the ability to import word lists from external sources would also be incredible.
