Response from developer
Thank you for your response. We are sorry to hear that you had issues with the progress in the app. Please reach out to us via primer@emurmur.com so we can help resolve the problem. Regarding the (pathological) sound files: “Fundamentals 1, Level 3” contains exclusively samples of pathological sounds. In every training recording of each module you can click on the “(i)” icon on the upper right corner to display details about the sound file, including the presence, type of murmur (no murmur, innocent murmur, pathologic murmur) and its timing. Heart murmurs typically include frequencies which often overlap partially with the frequencies of the physiological heart sounds, making a simple visual extraction of the murmurs tricky; you will notice that the frequency view option can be helpful regarding “seeing” a murmur, especially with the S1 and S2 markers activated. The structure and methods used in eMurmur Primer (now Littmann Learning) are based on scientifically proven methods for teaching heart auscultation. If you want to study the related published literature we would refer you to the work by cardiologist Dr. J. Finley. For more information regarding the app structure, its content and scientific basis click on “About” - “About the app”.
