Awful update
Just want to book a gym session. Old app was straight forward. This is rubbish. Jeez what a step backwards.
Step Backwards
The new Live Well Live Life app and web feels like a step backwards. Booking classes is slow and unreliable, with constant performance issues that make simple tasks frustrating. The old system was far more straightforward, I feel for the staff using this to work each day as it comes across chaotic at sites.
Life Leisure talks about supporting the community, but pushing everyone into a digital‑only setup with this set up limits people. Their vision for full digital use doesn’t feel realistic when the app struggles with basic functions. It needs major improvement to serve the borough.

Incredibly slow and frustrating
This app was launched at the end of June with a lot of hype, but unfortunately it has been a very poor experience so far.
The app is incredibly slow, particularly when class bookings open. Pages take ages to load, and it can take around 10 minutes to book just three classes. The booking confirmation often doesn’t load, leaving you repeatedly pressing “Confirm Booking”. You then receive a message saying there is a clash, which appears to be the only indication that the booking has actually gone through. It is confusing and infuriating when you are trying to book popular classes and have no idea whether your place has been secured.
The calendar feature also requests full access to your calendar in order to add classes. I’m not comfortable giving an app that level of access, so I’m unable to use that feature. There should be a more privacy-friendly option.
There seems to be a lot of frustration among members, and I regularly hear people at the gym complaining about the same issues. The app needs significant improvements to its speed, reliability and user experience.

Who designed this?
You cannot view swim times without going through the booking process which is rubbish design. I also can’t pay with apple pay? It’s 2026.
Clearly zero user research has been done.

Gym
When tracking weight exercises there is no option for Sled push on the track
Too slow
Taking too long to load when it comes to opening of booking at 9pm assume too many people trying to book so likely miss out on some of the smaller class bookings.
I’d give it zero stars if I could
The app is terrible and it’s almost impossible to book gym classes. The new app was hyped for so long but it’s rubbish, the old one was better.
Appalling
This app is a disaster. Not fit for purpose. Excellent way to alienate your clientele
Poor “upgrade”
This app was heavily advertised as an exciting new launch… haven’t been swimming since it launched! The swim timetables aren’t on there like they used to be, so you can’t browse. Probably going to leave soon, looks like they’re trying to cut corners everywhere, despite price increases.
The new app
I’m afraid to say that the new app simply does not work. I have booked a class which shows as Booked, then later it is not booked.
The app is so slow at 21.00 to book 8 days ahead but finally, you manage to get a Booked advice, then as I have said, the booking goes and you are back at the beginning. The previous app worked well so you have to question why change to an app that doesn’t work. If I can’t book my preferred class, you have to question what’s the point of paying membership.

What have you done
It’s awful!
Disaster
Oh dear.
There was nothing wrong with the old one. There is nothing right with this one.

Awful
Terrible. Fun swim isn’t available on the app
Is this a joke?
This new app was heavily advertised as an upgrade, it’s been a disaster. Slow bookings, crashes, poor UI/UX - bring back the old one please
Not fit for purpose
This app and the system behind it are awful. All members at the gym are complaining but the reception staff keep saying it’s fixed and there are no issues. It’s bad enough that the app is so poor but to insult members intelligence by insisting there are no issues is really poor
It’s ok…
The recently updated app was (over) hyped for a long while before release and let’s be honest, after several updates it just about functions.
I use the app for swimming bookings and once you know how it’s just about worth it.
1. The app doesn’t default to the account you are logged in on when booking, which means it looks like you will be charged until you switch it over.
2. Switching to your own account at the cart is not intuitive. Why not just default to it, or just have a big “book for me” button?
3. There are too many click make a booking for yourself. Why doesn’t the app learn when I use, like every other app out there? Or a fav system?
As with other reviews the UI and Customer Experience is not great, but I will add that once you know then it’s fine.

New app not working
The new app needs a lot of fixing. Has just taken 10 minutes to book a class whilst waiting for screen to refresh. Also so many clicks to actually make a booking. Massive step backwards so far
Terrible
It’s taken 10 mins so far to get to the booking page, then it wouldn’t let me add to cart, when I eventually did add to cart it took ages to go through. Also the app is now doing updates, it’s only a week old, was this not tested before going live
Genuinely a downgrade
Thought there would be better features it’s rubbish doesn’t work tries to charge me for classes and is a horrible design (you need better UX designers)
Looks amazing new app
10 out of 10
